Role Businessman

Tim Berry is a gay businessman and former owner of several gay venues. His partner is Clarence Cruz.

When he was 20 years old he bought a 50% share in the leasehold of both the Unicorn Hotel on Oxford Street and the Town Hall Hotel in Balmain. Before long he had built the venues up enough to be able to buy the freehold on both.

He eventually sold both venues and (in 1993) purchased the leasehold of the Midnight Shift.

Berry later bought Patches from Dawn O'Donnell and established DCM.

In early 2009 the building that the Midnight Shift is in was sold to an investment company, the Arunta Group. In July 2010 the new landlords took over the venue, moving in and changing the locks while Berry was overseas.

On his return, Berry took the Arunta Group to court where they agreed to purchase the venue from him.

Away from Oxford Street, Berry still runs a cattle farm in Queensland and a charity that operates an orphanage in Cambodia for children who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
