Sydney Leather Pride Association (SLPA) was formed in 1990 as a group to educate the community about the leather and BSDM lifestyle. The group holds workshops on various topics as well as running events aimed at the leather and fetish community.

Leather Pride Week
Leather Pride week occurs every year at the end of April. During the week there are numerous workshops on topics such as bondage, safety and the legalities of BDSM play. The workshops are open to all to attend. There are also art exhibitions and social gatherings.
The major event of the week is the Leather Pride Fair Day. In the past this was help in the closed off Forbes Street however poor weather has seen it moved indoors to the Midnight Shift.
Inquisition Party
The Inquisition Party is the major fund raiser for Sydney Leather Pride. Held around August, the event usually attracts around a thousand people who all dress in fetish gear of their choice. Traditionally the party has been held at Fox Studios Entertainment Quarter however since 2009 has moved to other venues.
