The Awards aim to celebrate the efforts of community groups and individuals who promote the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people in Brisbane and throughout the country.
2009
The inaugural awards were held on 6 June at Judith Wright Centre. They were part of a new look for the 48th Queen's Birthday Ball. Special guest MC was Courtney Act. [1]

- The Wickham Hotel for GLBT Friendly Company of the Year
- Miss Synthetique for Entertainer of the Year
- Jarran Haywood for HIV Activist of the Year
- Mathew Mitcham for Gay Icon of the Year
- Sporties for Gay Venue of the Year
- Open Doors for Community Group of the Year
- Paul Martin for Person of the Year
- Dame Sybil Von Thorndyke for Lifetime Achievement Award
