The Order of Perpetual Indulgence is a global order of gay male nuns and lesbian monks who "support people's natural right to live and love whomever they wish, in the way that is natural for them."

The Sydney House was the second house to be established after San Francisco. It was founded by Mother Mary Medusa in 1981. Their mission is to promulgate universal joy and to expiate stigmatic guilt.

The Order organises many events, including history walks and zoo walks during the Mardi Gras Festival.
