The Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG retired as a high court judge in 2009 after a distinguished, and sometimes stormy 13 years. In 1999 he came out by naming Johan van Vloten as his long-term partner.
Michael Kirby gave the keynote address at the opening ceremony of the Sydney Gay Games.
