Khue Nguyen was born in Vietnam where he was bullied for being effeminate. He moved to Australia where he met his partner Jonathan.
Khue was short listed for the 2010 Archibald Prize with a self portrait Unleashed. The painting is intricate, symbolic and self-revealing. Hidden in the details are a penis, an anus, and a pair of closed lips representing forced silence.
