Gay and Lesbian Counselling Service of NSW (GLCS) is a volunteer based community service providing free, anonymous and confidential telephone counselling, information and referral services and support groups for gay men, lesbians, bisexual and transgender persons throughout New South Wales on sexuality and life issues.
Services are free, anonymous, and confidential.
The counselling line is at (02) 8594 9596 or 1800 18 GLCS (outside Sydney) and operates 7 Days a week from 5:30pm to 10:30pm.
Lesbian Line is at (02) 8594 9596 or 1800 144 527 (outside Sydney) and operates Mondays from 6pm.
General Line is (02) 8594 9595 or 1800 184 527 (outside Sydney)
GLCS also runs a number of support groups
- Women’s coming out group
- a SMART recovery group for people with alcohol and other drug dependencies
Volunteers are trained to provide public education on GLBT issues. GLCS works closely in partnership, and shares premises and staff, with Twenty 10. Services are free, anonymous, and confidential.
