The theme of Sleaze has been announced: Sinsuality. All the website tells us is How about something original, mortal, or unforgivable? More details next Thursday... Is teasing a sin?

The party will happen on 1st October in the RHI and Horden.

Some small writing in the top right of the image indicates there are 7 more coming.

From NMG Newsletter
Looking for hints on what to wear this October long weekend? How about something original, mortal, or unforgivable?

New Mardi Gras has released a teaser for your Saturday, 1 October Sleaze Party. Looks like your long weekend will require atonement after racking up your misdemeanours. Confession, though, is optional and can always take place via sms, on the couch or in a sunny café with loved ones the day after.

This is a costume friendly-theme, true to the roots of Sleaze and, all jokes aside, is still our key fundraiser for Mardi Gras. A successful Sleaze enables New Mardi Gras to put on Launch, Fair Day, the Parade and the Party – your Mardi Gras season! So, while there are lots of opportunities to enjoy yourselves this October long weekend, make sure you definitely include Sleaze in your plans so we can all enjoy a big brash and fantastic Mardi Gras Season next year!

For a taste, please visit Sleaze 2005 http://www.mardigras.org.au/Diary/sleaze_2005.htm

The Sin of Sleaze Bashing
Start by attacking the theme of the party. Say how unoriginal it is and that they could have done something better and dirtier. Never make a suggestion of what you think is better. Mention that you think a theme is a silly idea anyway. Say how the poster is boring and not sexy, even though you would willingly sleep with any of the models.

Then, when the DJs are announced, say how crap they are. Comment authoritatively that the choice is the same as every other party and that the music all is sh*t anyway. Complain that there is no space for "Deep Dark Retro Trance with a twist of Kylie" lovers. Announce that there is never anyone new and that the best slots are taken by people you don't know.

There will come a time when the wall gets quiet, so mention again your outrage that there are no sex spaces. How you hate seeing sex in the middle of the dance floor or anywhere really. Say how you haven't had that party spirit since 1969.

Attend the party, just so you can prove how correct all your predictions were. Don't bother to enjoy yourself or notice the thousands of others dancing away, smiling and having a great time.

After the trade you scored has left (you will say chucked out) and you are feeling sore and sorry for yourself start complaining how bad the party was. You never heard a song you liked, except that one you heard everywhere you went, the one that goes doof doof. You couldn't hear it anyway because you couldn't hear the music from the RHI while you were on the bleachers in the Horden. Bitch that the 232 lasers in the Horden were not impressive and they should have all been multicolour.

Mention that no one even looked at you in your designer jeans and underwear and fake tan. That no one was in costume, except all those people wearing strange outfits that looked really silly. They are too old or young to be at the party anyway.

so true, so true.

I look at it this way. If you count up the number of whinging posts about a party , then add up the number who actually attended the party. You end up with a low single digit percentage who didnt like the party.
As they say you cant please all the people all the time.
But in order the next set of whingeing will be -
the DJ's
the lack of a specific music type
the lact of a particular venue
as you say it will then go quiet then someone will post-
no sex spaces whinge whinge
or
too many straights la la la la la la la la la

and as you say they will post with an absolute authoritive
voice on the subject.

Not a problem with personal opinion " We dont live in China".

The post never said you cant say anything. If you read back on past walls its the same old same old and probably generated by about 10-20 posters..........just gets very

Re:
I think what NMG is trying to say, is that support of sleaze this year is essential for the continuation of the organisation and thus the 2006 season. If you read the annual report and note the significant financial strain the organisation is currently under, it isn't rocket science to work out that NMG need a mighty successful sleaze just to stage the 2006 season.

My personal opinion regarding the scheduling of another toybox at luna park the following day is appaling, considering toybox AND NMG instigated the whole concept as an official mardi gras festival event and recovery a mere 6 months ago. They should be continuing to support NMG over the long weekend, expecially since ACON had it's go with BQN in june, and we all know that BGF is one of the more wealthy of our community organisations.

The time has come to decide with your wallets which organisations you are supporting this weekend. I plan on buying 2 tickets to sleaze and donating one to 2010 so someone who cant afford to go can. And in doing so i will be providing yet another sale to an organisation that is struggling to provide the february we all love to enjoy each year at (lets face it) little cost to us!

Re:
I think buying two tickets and donating one to a community org is one of the best ideas I've ever heard. I know many of the younger people probably couldn't afford to buy two tickets, but for those on higher paying jobs who can afford it, I think it it would be a superb gesture both to those who can't afford to go, and to Mardi Gras who obviously needs our support to continue into 2006.

Re:
NMG have the right to go outside the selection process and choose the DJ's they think are most likely to create a successful party. They are not required or obliged to call for submissions, they have just chosen to do so in the past to try and make things fair.

If what I have heard is true, they need this party to be a financial success, or else there will be no future parties. I think it is wise for them to hand pick the DJ's for this party.

Re:
I agree that NMG have the right to hand pick DJs - this isn't a govt tender - and let's face it all promotors hand pick the DJs that they want for the party. If they are going to hand pick - then why bother with an EOI? However, I do think that there is an issue about how this was communicated to DJs who were sent an EOI - the EOI did not outline the process, or even state that this would the sole basis of making a decision. The EOI was based on the same format as for Mardi Gras and for Sleaze last year; I think it's fair to assume then that the process would have been the same.

I also think that there is a real issue of professionalism about making public comments on pinkboard before the selection has been announced and before the unsuccessful DJs have been notified.

However, again, maybe this is all a storm in a teacup. Maybe someone has lead a number of us on with some malicious posting. It's been known to happen on these walls before.

This really has been a poor process and totally different to what NMG had advised earlier in the year.

I've had enough of the games and backdoor favours that have been going on this year and won't be bothering anymore with NMG.

I'll be interested to see the final line up, especially if it features the same dj who was part of the dj selection group and who also caused controversy with his selection for Mardi Gras.

I understand that NMG had already chosen which DJs they wanted before any EOIs had been submitted and that this was only to make the process seem fair and transparent. Having said that, it's a commercial business and they need to make commercial decisions in order to surivive. I'm not really shitty at the fact that NMG had a preconcieved line-up, but moreso that they wasted our time by asking for EOIs when we clearly had no chance.

to all those with their noses out of joint re DJ selection i thought i would add my 2cents worth.

I would say i was pleased that around a month ago I was asked by one one of the organisers via email what DJs I would like to see at sleaze.

Why was I asked for my opinion-only because i participated in some of the shows at last sleaze-so really im just a punter who wanted to get involved last time and now i was asked for my input on djs

So i doubt that i held any influence but i thought it showed simply by asking mine and others opinions that NMG are trying to get it right

to those who missed out-try being positive instead of negative-would you be so pissed at the handling of things if you were accepted?

I can't tell you how many job interviews I have done where the "rules" change from those that were advised at the time, such as not deciding in one day but 2 weeks; deciding to use a temp instead, using existing staff to fill the role, etc etc. All leads to the same thing - I didn't get the gig. Move on... NEEEEXT!
- Replies: add

My understanding, from what I've been told by people involved with the DJ selection process, is that they called for EOI's so they could find out who was interested. It was from this list that they chose their DJ's.

Therefore, the EOI process was not a waste of time, or an exercise to make things look clear and transparent, it was a tool used to narrow down the large list of Australian DJ's they could choose from.

I know the line-up and I think it is pretty phenomenal. There are two DJ's who have never played a MG or Sleaze before, and a couple of long-established DJ's who haven't played a MG or Sleaze for many years. There's a few who have done the rounds, but who haven't done the last couple. It is a pretty well-rounded line-up with some popular DJ's.

The fact remains that this party needs to be a success for NMG, otherwise it is bye bye to our biggest parties. You can't blame them for taking the stance that they need to rely on proven ability and draw-card names to ensure that this party is a success for them. Since they need to do that, it makes the demo submission process irrelevant as no matter how good someone's demo is, if they don't have the pulling power, they aren't going to achieve the desired result of getting people to buy tickets.

It's hard to be rejected, and it is hard to not take it personally. I know from experience. But people need to look at this party as the exception. NMG couldn't take the chance for this one as it could be their last. If it is a success, and our parties continue, I'm sure future parties will allow for a more flexible process. And if they get some money in the bank, I'm sure they could afford to evolve our parties to something new and different. But people need to support this party to ensure that incoming cash can sustain future improvement.

Whether you decide to go or not is your choice. Hopefully enough people will go to ensure a successful party for NMG.

Oh please
As another posted said, going for job interviews anywhere you find they change what was initially advertised.
I can see the point of getting DJ's with pulling power -
dont you ?
And as another poster said, " you cant please 100% of the people 100% of the time ".
How do you know those DJ's that have been chosed are not going to be any good ?
I'm sure those that are chosen will be quite happy with the process and those that are rejected will not.
Just as those that dont get a job will always have an excuse why they didnt get it.

This is the most sensible post I have read on this topic - EVER. And it does explain a lot. Those who are concerned about why they didn't recieve a response from the Sleaze working party can always send an email to the chair requesting an explanation. It's pretty easy to do that, and in my experience it does pay off. Respect and professional conduct goes both ways. All you need to do is take some initiative.

Roll up! Roll up!
What we all have to remember is that NMG are volunteers and not "professionals", let alone qualified in the fields they represent; from board down to the working groups. Anyone can be a director or working group co-chair. NMG is a large organisation that has a certain level of professionalism that it needs to uphold if it is to be taken seriously. Certain steps and procedures obviously are not set up and if they are, are not handed over from one board or working group to the next.

The success of Sleaze is a big test not only to raise funds for Mardi Gras 2006, but also guarantees the organisation lasts and that the board don't lose the shirts of their backs. Surely the board wouldn't want a bunch of wannabe's tarnishing the financial success of the organisation?

I say next time don't rely on someone with a supposed 'DJ network' to send out your EOI call out, especially if you don't know who it was sent out to. By all means you have every right to hand select those DJ's with pulling power to stimulate ticket sales. NMG should also come down hard on those who leak information like the supposed Allan Parkinson leak.

Be upfront and honest. That way there is no need for speculation and it keeps it transparent. At the moment I know of a lot of DJ's who, after having contact with Mardi Gras, have heard all different stories to what was happening and how. If this was any other business it would be laughing stock. Just because NMG is supposed to be a community based organisation is no excuse for bad management at any and all levels.

You don't want a circus so cut back on your clowns.

Re: Roll up! Roll Up - Sarah Jessica Parker
Hmmm NMG A circus – I think not that would mean that it required a ring master some skill and some …

Reading the comments on this board, and in a Sarah Jessica Parker moment, one has to ask… “How long can something last that is self consuming…”

While I have not given my time or effort to NMG I look at the stories I see on here and it truly affirms to me why… people leaking information, EOIs going out to the selected few, was this simply the case to keep people happy with the DJs preselected? Interesting to see that the lighting man is back in the family and spreading using information he has to boost his profile and name…

NMG is, last time I checked a community based organisation, one that serves the community – but with what I ask, what is it that NMG does, it throws 2 parties a year, it has a festival, which is like all other festivals, it has a launch that people are fenced into, it fights with other community groups, and has fair day – which if last year is any indication, its simply a couple of stalls, some second rate entertainment in the rain…

What is it that NMG does, who do they stand for, is it about a fight for equality, gay and lesbian rights, the people from the 70s reminding us all of the fight they had for us and how we should be indebted to them forever . Maybe, just maybe it is an excuse to have a party.. hmm or is it simply just self serving political thing that has no true purpose…

You have to wonder, if NMG talk about transparency and yet shows none, show as little respect for DJs as highlighted here and stands for who knows what – then what truly is the point of it being – what do I get for my membership money… after all a ticket to Astons circus is cheaper and I think represents better value…

Power to the people who are in the inner circle, may you use your power to self promote and gain all that you can as the day will come that the opportunity to rape the community for self benefit, and a “boys / girls club” are nearly at an end… in the mean time – sit back watch the circus and keep an eye out for the clowns

DJ Selection
New Mardi Gras has not yet announced the DJs. The leaks on Pinkboard are not the responsibility of New Mardi Gras.

From what I have read here it appears that NMG has contacted everyone who applied and told them whether they were successful or not. They have done this prior to making any official announcement. Presumably they contacted the successful DJs first in case one decided to pull out and they had to choose someone else.

In this case it appears that New Mardi Gras has acted correctly. I cannot comment on the selection process as it would be all presumption and hearsay.

The question you might like to consider is should Pinkboard suppress the leaks?

No. They choose DJ's that fit the theme and style of the party and then they hire them.

Things have changed people, some got in some didn't. Its seems like NMG have some great people on board this year, let stop this carry on and start worrying where countdown boy is...? Huh...? 8 weeks and no countdown..? WTF?

Re:
If I were a DJ, and interested in playing at Sleaze (which happens at the same time every year), and I hadn't heard anything about the DJ selection process, I think I would be contacting NMG to express my interest and see what was happening. I know at least one DJ did that and it seems to have worked for them.

I also seem to recall more than one DJ complaining about having to submit a demo (for quite legitimate legal/financial reasons), and that NMG should be able to make decisions based on experience/reputation.

In any case, the DJs have been announced:
http://www.mardigras.org.au/Diary/sleaze_2005.htm

Ruby
Mandy Rollins
Luke Leal
Chip
Kate Monroe
Greg Boladian
Feisty
Dan Murphy
Sveta
Jake Kilby

I'd be interested to know which of these DJs selected through this "disgraceful" process don't deserve to be there.

DJ Selection
My goodness ... my first read of the Pinkboard, and sad to see so much bitterness over something that is supposed to bring the community together.

Why don't people wait until the DJ selection come out before they start bashing it to the ground. NMG have obviously chosen a selection of DJ's they think will please crowds, and ultimately sell tickets. Who cares how they chose it! It's a numbers game people!

People aren't criticizing other dance parties that are happening on the October long weekend for the way they have chosen their DJ's???

I hope people begin to realize that this party is about having a good time, and ultimately it's your attitude that will decide that, not the particular type of remix that's pumping out the speakers.

Good Luck MMG, and see you at Sleaze!

i would just like to announce that the next dj selection process for mardi gras will take place at a picnic at centennial park in mid december. to ensure transparency no-one will be allowed to wear sunglasses. All cloaks, daggers and other items of subterfuge must be left at the gates of the park. They will be handed back out to the unsuccessful dj's after selection so they can engage in vocal backstabbing of NMG on pinkboard in subsequent weeks. Selection criteria will be based soley on who my mum likes best and who my best friend's ex-boyfriend's dog's nail trimmer said winked at me at Arq... or was it the Shift... hmmm maybe rogues... Desired musical style this year are cranky house and whiny anthems. In case you hadn't noticed Trance and Retro are officially dead ever since Kyle and Jackie O said they were going to do special PAs at retrosexual and trancefusion. No sound check will be provided as you only play with CDs (i mean how difficult can it be to press a button) on a 15 yr old mixer set up on my a plank over two milk crates in my bedroom with a very long extension lead to Fox. If you're lucky and mardi gras scores a live OB of the party you'll be able to listen in to audience reaction on some dodgy fm station you've probably never heard of.

Good Luck!

Before Mardi Gras this year, NMG spelled out very clearly the process and timeline which was going to be used for Sleaze. The EIO was called for as expected but then the entire process was changed without warning.

I know of a couple of DJ's who had started to go through the legalities of preparing demos as they had been shortlisted before and wanted to make sure they had enough time to make legal demos. This process takes time and also COSTS THE DJS MONEY.

They now find themselves out of pocket because NMG went back on their word and changed things behind closed doors despite promising transparency earlier this year.

Luke Leal & Jake Kilby
I'm bemused by the selection of these 2 DJ's for Sleaze given that Luke said he will NEVER play in the RHI again (so one can only presume he is in the Hordern, if he plays the RHI he is a hypocrite)

Jake I'm also disappointed in. Last time I heard he was so disillusioned with NMG he said he never wanted to participate in one of their parties again.

It's not a great quality in a person if you can't stay true to your own word.

Panther - pinkboard should definitely suppress the leaks. The effect of the leaks for most of is is that we find out that we haven't been selected by reading it on pinkboard. That shouldn't be how it works. I have no problem with NMG taking 24 hours to contact everyone - that is fair, they have to be allowed to have some time to get contracts signed etc. It would be good if people could keep their mouths shut etc for the same period.

It's not just Mardi Gras that is affected. I note that the Inquisition DJ line up for 2005 was announced on pinkboard before it was finalised this year (and in fact announced by Justin Scott on pinkboard for 2004) - and it did change subsequent to the announcement in 2005.

Re:
Both Luke and I have our reasons for being involved with this party. I'm not going back on things I have said or felt in the past - I was pretty disgusted at some of the ways NMG handled some things in the past.

I decided to submit an expression of interest for this party for a few reasons:

1. Brad Wright, a very close friend, is Party Producer. Not only do I have faith in his immense desire to try and fix all the problems that had occured in the past, I was also very happy that MFS were no longer at the helm, as they were one of the reasons I was having issues.

2. Ryan Murphy is heavily involved. After the hideous treatment he received last year, he decided to make himself ineligble to submit so that he could work from the inside at fixing all the things that had caused nasty experiences for DJ's in the past.

3. Damon Hartly is heavily involved. Same story as points 1 and 2. He's someone who is dedicated to making the party the best thing possible and ensuring that the experience is a pleasant one for all working on it.

4. One particular Party Working Group Co-Chair is no longer involved. Someone who had little respect for or understanding of DJ's and was single handedly one of the biggest reasons for my dissillusionment with MG 05.

If you ask Brad he will tell you that up to a few weeks ago, I had no intention of submitting at all. Brad hounded me to do so as he had put so much time and affort in to getting the position of Party Producer.

The points mentioned above sparked enough interest in me, and belief that maybe things could change, so I submitted an EOI. It was always my intention to withdraw my application in the process if I felt that I could see signs of the same old demons coming back.

When I received the call asking me to play many things were discussed. These things are private and I don't feel the need to share them, but they satisfied my fears and I believe that NMG are truly trying to improve on mistakes made in the past.

I can't speak for Luke on this, but I take your comment on board and can understand where you are coming from. However, I stand by the things I have said in the past, and I stand by my decision to play at this party. Your comment:'It's not a great quality in a person if you can't stay true to your own word.' is a little harsh, and since you are not aware of all the facts and thought processes involved, I'd appreciate it if you would refrain from making derogatory comments like that about either of us.

Actually, Brad Wright had absolutely nothing to do with the DJ selection process. NOTHING AT ALL. In fact, his contract had not even been signed and finalised when NMG called for expressions of interest. Even if his contract had been signed, he would not have had anything to do with it, same as Mark Fordham, as Party Producer in the past, wasn't involved with the DJ selection. That is the job of the PARTY WORKING GROUP, not the PARTY PRODUCER.

Brad simply encouraged me to submit as he is my friend and liked the idea of working with his friends on the party.

When I got the call asking me to play it was from the members of the PARTY WORKING GROUP - not Brad Wright. He was in QLD when the party working group met to discuss the DJ line up.

You may also want to consider that the person who called me was Ryan Murphy. He was heavily involved with the selection as far as I know (along with the rest of the committee). Some people may consider Ryan a Midnight Shift DJ. The fact that most of the Sleaze DJ's work for Arq is irrelevant and has absolutely nothing to do with Brad Wright.

Sheesh! Some people will go to any lengths to stir up trouble!

This is not a whinge, I have truly supported NMG in many ways but I am not giving them anymore $'s that end up being swallowed by and endless blackhole.

There will be other promoters out there who will take over the party, put on a fair day etc as they are real money spinners even if its not the one company putting them on.

Kate is a great small room DJ. She excels in rooms like City Live and Dome.

She is NOT a big space DJ and has preformed miserably on so many occassions that it staggers me that people keep giving her extra chances.

The middle part of the RHI needs to be an energetic set. Kate plays far too funky for that part of the night. She is going to be a huge let down after Jake and Luke playing back to back.

And while i'm on this soapbox and i know Jake watches this board - Jake , You and Luke have very different styles of music. Luke plays trance , you play house. In my opinion her poor track record when selected to play in the Hordern or the RHI over the last decade speaks for itself. I could rattle off about 10 parties in the last decade where she has played a poor Hordern or RHI set

I am not a fan or detractor of Kate, from all accounts she is a great person and has proven herself as a very competent DJ however my experience of her as a DJ is that I have had some fabulous nights in Dome or City Live when she has been placed in those spaces but has failed dismally when playing in the 2 big halls where more energetic music has normally been expected.

Unless she is going to drastically change her music style then I don't think her music will go down well in the middle of the night in the RHI.

By my estimation she has played maybe 4 or 5 times in the Horden in the last decade and last in the RHI just over 10 years ago.

Kate is considered one of Australia's (not just the GLBTQ community) top DJs: number 17 in ths year's In The Mix top 50 http://www.inthemix.com.au/50/2005/. This means that lots of people actually like her.

"If Kate Monroe is so shithouse, why has she been invited so many times over the last decade to play at large parties huh?"

Some people must skim over things on this board and not take in everything before they open their sometimes big mouths.

Once again for dummies - Kate gets picked "so many times over the last decade to play at large parties" because she is EXCELLENT when chosen to play the smaller funkier spaces like Dome and City Live. Year after year she has been brilliant playing her special brand of funky house stuff to crowds in the smaller spaces at our dance parties. I have had heaps of great nights dancing to her when she has been slotted in the Dome and / or City live.

However, put her in the bigger rooms like Hordern and the RHI and MY EXPERIENCE is that her music has not been suited to those halls and her sets in those halls have been a big let down. (A few Examples - RHI Mardi Gras 1995, The last Inquisition in the Hordern, Hordern New Years Eve 1995 into 1996 , Hordern Pride 1999 into 2000 , Hordern Sleaze 2002)

Unless Kate decides to radically change her preferred music style and play a more higher energy set of music then her set at Sleaze "could" once again be a letdown.

Time will tell. But I will be back to say "I told you so" to those that doubt me. Put a note in your diary for the first week in October.

You'd think she was the only DJ in the RHI ! Sheeeesh...
hope Kate doesn't read or hear about this wall.
Lets see, 10 DJ's throughout the night , as Jake pointed out DJ's do have other styles.

If she was such a disaster in 1995 then why was she asked to do a big venue again?

And if she flopped that 2nd time, why was she selected AGAIN?

Just get over your delusions. I thought she was fantastic at Sleaze 2002 and so did the crowd. This is why she gets asked over and over.

Hordern dj's
I like the choice of Ruby for the Hordern, however, I think the rest of the dj line up for the Hordern is out of place and doubt it will work well. The Hordern is a TRANCE hall, not a funky or dirty style hall, it's far to big for that, not to mention most people (atleast 80% of the regular Hordern crowd) won't like anything but trance on Sleaze night. Had it been kept to Luke Leal and Ruby, with a house dj doing the opening set I'd A) be happy B) think it will make others happy C) ensure a continued future for Sleaze, unfortunately I think with the dj's in the wrong halls it won't leave people with a happy night, or night that was memorable for the right reasons.

I don't agree with some of the dj's picked, however I believe if they were put in the right halls it could work, sorry Brad and the Party Working Group, but I don't think it will be a great night, it could be with a few simple changes, but I'm not holding my breath.

Before anyone hurls abuse at me, I'd like to say that after all this fiasco I plan on being involved in the Party Working Group in the future, and I intend on going to Sleaze this year.

I'm seeing all this stuff about moving the DJ EOI's and how soome think that is not a big deal.

let me just add this... I am a established Syd gay dj. I was really looking forward to applying for Sleaze this year. But, I did not even get to submit a EOI. Why, because they changed the date and I was never forwarded the information. I didn't look in the papers because I already had "official" information from Mardi Gras.

Last week, I got set to email my EOI only to find the whole process was already finished and myself (and other prominent djs) who were working off the original information simply have to lump it.

very uncool new mardi gras.

this is one very disappionted dj.

Re:
you really have no idea do you. the only thing djs want is a fair and just selection process. and believe me my experiences are anything but. I'm not going to elaborate as its not constructive but lets just say over the last few years I have experienced problems with the submission process for every party and sleaze. these "incidents" have led to submission disadvantages in preparing a worthy demo cd, and disclusion even from the whole process due to a mardi gras mistake (on more than one occasion).

Yes they are a community organisation but that does not mean they have a free pass card to be unprofessional. It has nothing to do with ego or how good a dj is. Fact is most djs just want opportunity to be judged fairly. Musical programming means that even the best dj iin the world might not be appropriate for the event they are trying to create. believe me, rejection is not the issue, the issue is that the selection administration process is taxing and upsetting on a professional level. Not surprising there are DJ's who now refuse to work with mardi gras. And that, is sad.

Get over yourselves people. It's a party. Whether you like every DJ irrelevant. NMG will be criticised whatever, whoever they choose.

While I am only new to the scene and haven't experienced 'the good old days' I don't think this gives anyone a reason t slag DJ's. For as many that don't like a particular DJ or set there will be equal if not more than do.

DJ's and NMG please disregard all this whining, moaning and outright rudeness. I for one will be there having a great time.

Those who are complaining.... when a DJ has a set that you are not enjoying - leave the dance floor and socialise. Parties are great for that.

Oh dear, how sad many of you have all been over the weekend. Firstly, Kate would not have accepted the gig and time unless she was confident she could do the job. She's a pro.

What else... Oh yeah, Ruby is the right choice for the Hordern (as it's a trance room) and the other 4 DJs aren't.. What the F!@#! 20% of the DJs are more appropriate than 80%. Very amusing comment. By the way honey, the Hordern has only been trance in the last few years when many venues allowed for a dedicated space. There are only two spaces this party (to ensure good profit margins to financially secure our Mardi Gras). As such, when there are only two, the Hordern has traditionally been a lot darker. This time is will start in Vocal Trance and end in darker - sounds like great use of the space to me.

Finally, Luke and Jake can't work together... That's got to be one of the most ridiculous statements of this Wall ever.

Re Hordern djs
Last year's Sleaze rocked in the Hordern and that was with the Mike Kelly, Mandy Rollins and Sveta lineup. I think that's enough proof that the tougher tribal sound works in that venue - as it has done many times before. Any successful dj in this town will tell you that they can (and do) adjust their music style to play a bigger room. The proof was last year where those djs excelled themselves. This year can only be better! On the whole I reckon this lineup is the best and strongest we've seen in years.

Re:
You are right in stating that the hordern has only really been a trance venue in the last few years. Traditionally it has always been a darker style (at least that is how I have seen it in my 13 years of going to/playing at MG parties).

But I don't quite get your Luke and Jake can't work together comment. We work together all the time - if not in a back 2 back scenario, then at least playing similar styles at the same event). He's one of my best friends. We share a lot of the same taste in music (trance, commercial, tribal, funky house, progressive, chunky beats). We both think it is going to be a hoot and we think we will work really well together. Why don't you? (And if you say because he plays trance and I play commercial, I will vomit on you everday for a week.)

If you think of something like QN, where I opened and Luke followed, we are playing at different times of the night to a different vibe on the dancefloor. Obviously our styles are going to be different. If you compare what Luke plays on a Sunday at Arq to what I play on a saturday, again, it is going to be different because the club has promoted these two nights as two different styles.

Just because trance isn't the style I play most and tribal pop and house aren't the styles that Luke plays most doesn't mean that we don't like and play other styles.

Have faith in our collective 20 years of experience that, together, we will deliver a great blend of the styles that we both love.

Has anyone actually thought that trance might not be high on the agenda of musical styles at sleaze this year. Just because it has been in the future doesn't mean it has to be now. Sleaze ball never used to have trance played at it - now im talking years back. Perhaps due to Toybox being on the next day - which will be all trance, NMG didn't want to override the market with the same thing all weekend. Look at the Hordern, it seems trance to start with then going through into house, then into tribal. RHI pop/house to start with, then a bit of trance/anthems/hits, then Kate with more house, finally Dan doing is big gay ending and edits.

Re:
I'm the person who started the Hordern dj's topic so I thought I'd respond to some of what's been said.

This Sleaze doesn't need to be loosing a bigger market (trance fans) to a smaller market (tribal fans), NMG needs this to make money, somehow I don't think there are enough gay tribal fans to fill a 7000 capacity venue like the Hordern....might wanna think about that ;)

If this Sleaze fails to get the numbers then NMG is in a very nasty position, if it gets the numbers but turns out to be a lemon of a night (for lots of people) then Sleaze will be unlikely to continue, certainly in its current format anyway.

I find the comments about Sleaze not trying to compete with the Toybox teams production, because that's probably a trance party, to be rediculous, Sleaze is on before and if they have trouble competing then why have a party with a less popular music style overall, in 2 far larger venues?

As for the comments about moving around the halls, I do move around the halls, however I'd like to be able to know if I go into one hall what style of music I can expect, without having to memorize the DJ timetable and remember it while impaired. Not to mention the downsides to having a ton of lasers in the Hordern but not in the RHI if the RHI will have trance.

Then there's the fact that the RHI is not sound-proofed properly, meaning the music is played with less volume, that's workable for most music styles, especially house, but not trance.

If this Sleaze is a disappointment then I'll be sticking to the MG party, Homesexual, Toybox and the like, the party working group has been given to much scope for to long, perhaps a PROFFESSIONAL production team is something for the NMG Board to look at.

I've given more of my time to NMG this year than almost everyone else posting on this board, however, just because I've supported them it doesn't mean I won't point out mistakes when I see them.

Everything I have said is constructive critism, I could have said it's crap and given no reasons, but I've given reasons, and as such, ways the errors can be fixed.

Yes I'm a trance fan first and foremost, however I like tribal, house, camp anthems and some dirtier styles, but let's face it people, this is a dance party, not a night at the Phoenix, as such the music should suit the occasion.

I was the one that started the fuss about Kate not being appropriate for the RHI but even I can not understand the sentiment of this posters comments. Just because I KNOW Kate wont be playing RHI appropriate music doesn't mean to say I wont be going to the party. To say you and your mates arent going on the strength of one DJ's selection is just plain idiotic. I suggest the poster should re-think the situation and spend the period where Kate is playing the RHI doing different things like catching up with mates , having a chat , checking out the Hordern , looking around , cruise the toilets even ! DJs at Sleaze
I personally am excited to see the DJs perform at Sleaze. It's guys like Jake , Luke, Chip that inspire me to take up DJing. And I know that DJs can't play all my fave songs, so if i don't like a particular song, I'll go get a drink, kiss someone, or go to another hall :-) Simple....

If some people don't like what the DJs play, I suggest that they take up DJing and perform at big parties themselves and stop WHINGING!

what a sad state of affairs it is when people feel that they need to ASK for a dancefloor to be layed down at an event with the ticket price that Sleaze has. Dance Parties have dance floors - It should be a non negotiable aspect of every party.

Is that really a direct comment on the use of Crystal in the GLBT community by the Scissor Sisters, or just an obscure pluck of lyrics trying to purport they are commenting on it?

Also, I believe that ppl aren't doing it in clubs, or am I wrong? I'm aware of the issue, and have absorbed websites like www.lifeormeth.com, and would like to hear if ppl that are out on a regular basis have seen it decrease due to education on its effects etc. Or are people now just doing it at home etc. instead of 'going out' on it.

Sorry but have been to virtually gay parties for the last 20 years and I can tell you in the Govt Pavilion, RHI,Hordern,
Alexandria Basketball Stadium we got wooden dance floors.
Might sound menial to some but for a lot of us , those wooden dance floors are great for the feet and to slide around when dancing so I dont think its unreasonable for the gay scene to be asking for something they have had for decades. I could have done with half the lighting at BQN and had a decent dance floor.

I feel that some of the DJ's and organisers completely have no idea what the dance floors are like. When there is a sea of people all moving at once, the bounce and vibration in the floor is amazing. It certainly extends the experience so you FEEL everyone around you rather than merely hearing the music.

It is that FEELING that we have been used to as part of the overall experience and the price of admission.

I'm just a little annoyed that we are being castigated like norty shcool kids or whingers, just because we insist that this be retained.

When you're used to Arnotts Scotch Fingers, its very hard to eat No Frills.

Another reason why wooden dance floors are important
Did you know that deaf people can actually get a better experience at dance parties dancing on wooden floor boards rather than concrete ?

In fact, dancing on concrete gives a deaf person no vibration whatsoever from the bottom half of their bodies and can make the experience (to some) a total waste of time and energy.

However, a wooden dancefloor allows a deaf person to "feel" the music not only from the speakers but from the floor.

To a deaf person having wooden dancefloors at a dance party is the difference between "feeling" their music in mono or stereo.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the performance of Kate Monroe in the RHI. You do not last in this industry for 12 years without doing something right! Do not judge Kate as a small room DJ just because you only know her playing at Deckbar or on the terrace at Home. Kate plays 50% of her sets to large floors and knows how to hold and drive a dance floor from big to small events. Thats what she does every weekend flying around Australia NZ and ASIA.

NMG have done a great job in programing Kate as the closing DJ in the RHI. The whole idea of different rooms is to suit the different styles of music and tastes. Do not forget that this is a community event and NGM are satisfying the tastes of our whole community, not just trance fans. Long live HOUSE!

Re:
that's it in a nutshell.

We all got tired of desperately trying to ensure a good party (hence the fiery tone of the wall and the passion of the postings).

in the end it was ignored. It was also ignored at Mardi Gras.

So the end result is everybody doing what they warned they would do - vote with their feet. So invariably we are planning on doing other things on that weekend and don't have any need to beg NMG to fix any problems, nor talk about what we'll be wearing.

I think they even lost countdownboy for good.

Tell me I'm wrong but first re-read the post sleaze comments from 2004 and post-Mardi Gras comments from earlier this year and see what we all said. Something along the lines of 'never again' and 'there won't be a next time'.

And I think the extremely low BQN turnout proves it.

Well that says it all.

Fact - There is only 45.3% interest in Sleaze this year compared to last year.

People just dont want to give this mob at Petersham anymore chances. There's only so many bridges you can burn before people turn their backs away from you. Countdownboy's very noticeable absense is surely a testement to this fact. RIP the big space dance party.

Of course it could also have something to do with the fact that last year's Sleaze wall started on 24 June, and this year's on 28 July :-)

So far that means an average of 828.14 words a day last year and 784.38 for this year (not guaranteeing the maths after midnight on a monday night though...)

If you take into account Countdownboy's absence, that probably works out about even.

Personally, so far I know of 3 people who didn't go to Sleaze last year but have already bought tickets this year (including 2 coming from OS), and another 4 or 5 from Melb currently getting their act together to book.

It's simply about being sensible with budgets. The first NMG party (Mardi Gras 2003) was under incredibly tight financial conditions, but was a great party - and certainly didn't feel cheap. I'm confident NMG has the good sense to give people value for their ticket price.

Re:
2003 was a good party, but that was an exceptional time.

It was the Mardi Gras we thought we'd never have and ironically the 25th Anniversary, the Silver Jubilee!Despite an open ticketing policy, for the first time in years from late January the party was essentially gay with an immense amount of community goodwill including free services from DJs and performers. A kind of magic took flight.

This energy and sense of passionate urgency continued in part to Sleaze 2003 but ended there. Mardi Gras 2004 was judged Ok to mediocre and the consensus on Sleaze 2004 was downright appalling. (We Will Rock You as an Opening Show???? - Shocking.) Additionally the open ticketing policy really started to have an effect on many levels.

2005 was deemed a huge success and "back on track" but only because it was way over budget as we found out after the fact which in turn created a substantial loss for the organisation and a very, very bitter AGM.

Which brings us to Sleaze 2005. It is big ask to put the onus on the average punter that is essentially after a good time which is a risk given all the factors in motion especially when we know Sleaze would be working to a very tight budget.

HOWEVER - Without a doubt those involved and producing this party have a wealth of experience, creativity and passion for their craft and the community, couple this with the dire situation outlined above and it seems to me combined they are explosive ingredients to make a sensational party which is irresitible.

Magic may take flight again.

The 2003 Sleaze was definitely much better than the 2004 Sleaze. In fact, if I remember correctly, people were raving on about how good the 2003 party was for weeks afterwards on Pinkboard, despite the lack of a wooden dancefloor in the Horden!!!

Can party in Oxford St anytime but we only get big parties like this 4 times a year and for the Hordern/RHI looks like only twice a year !
As for open ticket policy, I dont think its made a difference because the straight scene has its own parties now. In the late 80's/early 90's they came to our parties because of their reputation but eventually they got their own at Homebush etc and that is the main reason I reckon that numbers are down. Sure some gays are dis-illusioned but the days of 25,000 at MG etc are over as now its majority gay scene only attending.

Sorry, I strongly disagree.

The fact is, these events could be bigger than they are.

I truely believe there is more exceptance of gay and lesbian life style (just look at tv for eg)
I think the real point to be made is -
we as a community - we haven't been creatively catering ie.(keeping people 'happy' and 'interested' in going to these events)

The people who are attending, are going to vote GAY with there feet - and 'they' are the people who will continue to go.

I think the last few parties have been quite creative. The dance party scene was huge in late 80/90's and the gay community were leaders. The scene has just fragmented as now we have so many styles . I doubt we would ever get the parties up the 20,000's again.

Re:
For all the whining and bitching we have some of the best parties in the world, saying: back in 19** blah blah blah it was better is crap, as you get old everything seemed better, when in fact it's just you getting old and more precious, eg the wooden dancefloor moaning, str8 parties don't have it, be lucky you had it in your youth in 1980 :P

I don't always agree with some dj and theming choices, however I'm glad I have the opportunity to disagree, and the choice to go elsewhere....

Yes some parties are better than others, however not every party was better 10+ years ago, in fact the sound/production/dj standard was probably far lower back then.

Fortunately I'm only just in the twink age range (though I'm not a twink and have been on the scene awhile) so MY feet and knees won't suffer to much on concrete, but for those older folks then there are ways you can avoid it, eg different venue at a party, more drugs to numb you and practical shoes, lord knows I don't see many people wearing them at dance parties or clubs, health before style people, limping in 10yrs won't be to stylish ;)

Just be glad gay parties are of such a high standard and are so numerous, if one doesn't do it for you then go to a different one, don't keep going back for more and then bitch. There is a party for everyone, just find what you like and enjoy it, I'd rather have 1 fabulous night out instead of 10 average ones.

I agree with a couple of your points but certainly not all. For me the wooden dance floor is something I enjoy, it is a much more comfortable dance surface, regardless of age!

Regarding earlier dance parties such as those during the mid 1990's, I guess unless you have attended both the parties of those years plus those now, you can't really comment on which were/are better...Many of us have attended during both periods and a whole range of factors determine how an individual rates a party, not just age. Prior experience, particularly when it has been especially positive (or on the flipside, negative) is likely to colour future impressions of a given event. It is quite natural to compare between experiences! ;-)

Like most others I have favourite party memories, parties I rate as having been 'the best so far' from my experience but that doesn't mean that there can't or won't be better still to come! :-)

Age has nothing to do with it.
Nor does it have anything to do with wooden floors. Maybe the gay scene has been spoilt with them but I can tell you they really do add to the night. I've danced on cement and on the wooden floors and the wooden floors much better . They have a spring to them , you can feel the floor vibrating? from the rest of the dancers and your feet thank you the next day.

Unless they are performing as a generous gesture at absolutley no cost to Mardi Gras clearly the whole "support this party or there wont be a Mardi Gras" cannot be too a pressing issue if they have got money to spend on live acts, acts that aren't even semi relevant to the community.
I'm all for live acts but I think they should be performers that have some kind of endearing rapport with the community or at least have a strong connection with the theme of the night.
if they are doing it for free then yeah fine but if MG is paying money for them you really have to question how serious they are about the financial woes, even if they announced this before the party like they did with Deborah Cox a few years back would it make you change you mind about buying a ticket if you were not planning on going prior to this information being released??

LustSex Space Approved For Sleaze 2005

In the tradition of past Hand In Hand and Big QN parties Sleaze 2005 this year will be introducing a heated tunnel leading from Fox Studios all the way to a 4 bedroom terrace house in Moore Park Road. Party goers can make the 900 metre walk in about 2 to 3 minutes and be greeted every 100 metres with speakers playing the music from the RHI all night long. Once you arrive at the designated sex space on Moore Park Road there will be complimentary lube and condoms and a choice of 6 spacious carpeted rooms some of which will even have mattresses installed. Music in the Moore Park Road residence will be supplied by this years favourite DJ who has worked his butt off at the Newtwon & Stonewall Hotels, Mr Jukebox Nitelife. Just dont forget to bring your dollar coins cause the music stops when the requests stop.

New Mardi Gras Chairman Marcus Bourget has been quoted as saying he is delighted that New Mardi Gras has found a way to put the sex back into our dance parties and that they have found a place for it to happen that is within such close proximity of the actual party. They feel sure that party goers will not be put off with the nearly 1km walk citing the music being installed in the tunnel every 100 metres as a way to keeping all punters happy whilst they make their way to the designated area for sex.

As usual the stuffy Moore Park residence are up in arms over this concept and will be appealing this decision to any court they can whinge and moan to.

More details as they come to hand.......

Re:
Brad's word is only as good as ticket sales. While ticket sales are going well they can afford everything: wooden floors, seating, etc. From what I know, ticket sales are going well so far.

Most of the tickets are sold in the last 2 weeks before the party, so until that time all projections of sales are estimates. If you can't be certain how much you are going to make, then you can't be certain how much you can spend.

Imagine this: A week before the party you are asked to pull $10,000 out of the budget because ticket sales are significantly below projection. At this stage you can't close a hall because the DJs are booked and the hall is advertised. You can't cancel any shows, because all the costumes are made and contracts signed. You can't reduce audio. You can reduce lighting a bit, but that is only 2 or 3 thousand dollars worth. You can remove some seating. You can pull out a laser. You can cut a few other small things. There is not much that can be removed because the budget is already tight.

A dance floor costs over $10,000 for one hall. That is around 100 tickets or 1% of ticket sales. That is how close the budget usually is.

If we want to ensure that the dance floor is there then we all will need to make sure that the tickets get bought.

No, I am not part of the Party Working Group for this party, but I have been in the past. I have no idea how the current party is progressing: this is all from my previous experiences.

BUT... every Tom, Dick and Harry is getting the e-mail... and no where on the e-mail or on the Ticketek web page does it refer to Sleaze as a Gay & Lesbian event... but instead we are simply refered to as "fun lovers" as in the following line...

"A fixture in the Sydney annual party calendar, thousands of fun lovers have enjoyed many a Sleaze."

I had a look at the link above and what the poster fails to mention is that it contains the following text clearly stating: "Presented by New Mardi Gras , Over 18's Only - ID Required". It is a fact that almost all people over 18 know that in Sydney 'Mardi Gras' = Gay.

One wonders what the motives are of posters here that present such selective partial-truths to undermine their targets? Could this be an attempt to stimulate the separatist discussion about our straight friends being excluded from our events.

I wouldn't panic as not 'every Tom Dick and Harry' gets this email. It's called segmenting a database people...everyone does it. Ticketek would have loads of info on you if you have purchased in the past, with a credit card. You will get tailored alerts for what is coming up. They may even send 8 mailouts a day, each with different info, tailored to you past ticket purchases.

Or as one poster said, you 'opted-in' for the Ticketek newsletter and ticked the gay and lesbian box.

It's not sinister - this info collection by companies is one of the reason the revamped privacy laws were bought in a few years back. There is LOADS of info out there on every one of you!

LustMore than just a party
I know I know, it seems that each year there is someone fervently urging people to purchase tickets for Sleaze. This year it is going to be me. Sources very close to me within NMG are worried about the organisation's survival. I have it on reliable authority that ticket sales are extraordinarily slow. If they dont sell out it will be the end of Mardi Gras and I dont think it will come back. Think of Sydney without a parade, a party and a GLBTQ event that is one of the biggest in the world. The sky will be grey without the rainbow flag.
Get out there and buy a ticket...even if you dont want to go; give it to someone who cant afford it. I realise people have a lot of choice when it comes to parties these days but this one may not exist if we dont pull together.

Well I for one will be upfront and say I am going to give this year's party a miss. After having been to a few too many disappointing NMG parties, I am going to sit this one out and watch from the sidelines. I am hoping that this party surpasses all the rest, and this way it will bring back all the punters for the MG party and the next sleaze. I certainly don't want to see NMG fold ...however in the same breath I can not justify going to another party until I know that the are not to be missed!

Let's build on and improve from mistakes of the past, mistakes were made and I am sure more mistakes will be made. But Sydney without a Mardi Gras just isn't Sydney, it's about us. Let's ensure young gay people can celebrate their sexuality like we have.

Let's buy tickets now so the party can promise bigger and better things. Can't wait to see you all....

Re:
Have you ever thought that Sydney would be better WITHOUT Mardi Gras?

From recent experiences in cities, even country areas, we do not need Mardi Gras to have a thriving and dare I say it private gay scene.

Mardi Gras, both the event and the organisation, is more a burden than a life blood of a dynamic culture as it once was.

A good prune will always produce more flowers. It just takes some courage to get cutting and a little patience to witness new growth.

That seems more exciting to me than another party at Fox Studios.

I am an outsider to this as having never been to a SB (but going to this one), however been to many smaller dance parties and have lots of friends who went to SB in the 90's. The scene is changing, which one would expect, and NMG has to recognise that. SB has significant competition as a major event and people appear to enjoy the intimacy from a 'smaller' event (but with hot music). The marketing for this years SB I have felt is woeful and seems to rely on history.

I for one am looking forwards to the party. Of course there are certain parties that I have enjoyed more than others, but that is not neccessarily due to the party production etc but more to do with the amount of fun I was having with my friends on the night.

I love the large sized parties and both Sleaze and Mardi Gras have been the biggest events I have attended over the years. I enjoy the sheer number of people, all doing their own thing and hopefully, having fun.

A happy, energetic crowd with a positive party attitude, a few lights, dance floor, and energizing music is all I ask for. I don't need decorations or shows or international DJ's or international acts to have a good time.

Add to the dicussion, criticise it, challenge it, partially agree with it but please telling people "get off their arses" with the superior assumption they aren't or haven't is pointless and avoids the intent of the discussion.

Essential Sleaze Result
It's quite simple folks... support New Mardi Gras and Sleaze Ball or expect to be without substantial elements of the Mardi Gras period next year.

The Parade, for one thing, is the most important event of the year for us as it shows our solidarity, diversity and political strength. And, the Parade alone, ignoring the infrastructure behind the organisation generally, costs around $200,000 (if my memory serves me well) to put on and that's with the generous waving of user-pays expenses by the Council and State Departments.

This year the Party Working Group has changed significantly the way things are done, the way people are to be treated etc etc.

It's up to each individual to determine if they will 'trust' these changes and support the event. And if you don't want to go to the party, that's also fine. I'm sure donations will be happily accepted by New Mardi Gras in lieu of a personal choice not to go to Sleaze Ball.

And, no, I guess, as a volunteer, albeit in a very small role, I shouldn't be commenting but I'm sick to death of the anonymous posters here who are trying to damage the backbone of Sydney's gay community.

Sign your name if being negative and destructive or find a new life, preferably not in Sydney.

Are Sydney G&L's really that fickle?
NMG has put the writing on the wall - if Sleaze does not sell than there will be no Mardi Gras. Simple.

What do people want then. Isn't 10 of Sydney's biggest DJs, shows with Sydney's best dancers and choreographers, hundreds of people travelling from interstate...all to raise enough money to put on four events over a four week period enough?

Do you not think this is for you? Do you think Harbour Party would have a vibe without MG wrapped around it?

No wonder no gay event or business can survive. A large proportion of G&L people are just looking for that next thrill. Be that new drugs, soap star turned singer, event of shag.

My post wasn't negative - it was positive.

To explain may I extend the metaphor - I think combing the post that repsonded by saying you can't prune something that is dead and rotting with the post suggesting my comments were shit (that is fertisler)illustrates our future.

Mardi Gras is dead, we all know that even the "positive people" do, for why would they be so vocal otherwise. However decomposing matter makes for excellent rich soil. Mardi Gras' 30 year life and memories are the perfect fertisiler for something new, which when you look around there is alot aching grow.

At present it Mardi Gras just takes up far too much light and engergy and bears no fruit.

Re:
I think the reason that MOST people aren't rushing to buy tickets for this year's Sleaze is simply because the party doesn't appeal to them - not because they have some axe to grind with NMG. I know at least 10 people who would normally go to Sleaze who aren't going this year because the music they want to hear isn't going to be featured for a significant part of the night. All of them, I'm afraid to say, have got tickets to go to Lumiere instead. A few people have also told me that they aren't going this year after having a disappointing experience last year.

So, the bottom line is that if NMG want people to fork out $100 to go to their party (and to support next year's festival and parade), then they have to make it a little more attractive to the party crowd. Lumiere didn't have too much problem selling out, even though it musically caters for a relatively select crowd. I guess people have to start asking why instead of bitching about how noone is supporting the community and how dare anyone say anything negative unless they are going to do something to fix it and blah blah blah....

It's not just Fox - the reinforced licencing rules means that a lot of dark and interesting parties have disappeared. Venue owners are loathe to have any event that even _appears_ to have an element of sex. Leather Pride has had less small parties in the last few years due to venue difficulties ... other organisations have the same troubles.
Someone build us a nightclub that is a juicebar only and we could possibly get back to the kind of events we all like.

At least your getting "the music you want to hear" for SOME part of the night. My favourite genre of music got totally scrapped after three very popular parties at MG & Sleaze 04 then at MG 05. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement and the sole reason I am not going to Sleaze 2005.

OK heres why Lumiere sold out and Sleaze has not. Lumiere is a small event with limited ticket sales. And good on 'em - but don't go around saying your 10 friends who are going to Luna Park rather than Sleaze represent more than 10 people.

Too many posters on this board think that they speak for the whole community - who do you people think you are? John Howard when he says he speaks for all Australians. Give me a break.

I'll be at Sleaze - I will party my arse off and dance (on a wooden dance floor) and pash and grope heaps of guys and meet heaps of new people and catch up with heaps of old friends. If I am there for the shows - then they will be spectacular.
