ParkLife - mardi gras recovery @ Centenial Park. $45 for 3 Djs, one of them supposed to be David Morales, but guess what ? he aint doin' it ! and it only runs from 3.30pm to 9.30pm. will I be there ? I think not. I was really looking forward to this party, but now I'll have a nap & save myself for Gas !
Mr Panties - Thu Feb 10 23:17:35 2000
'Hah' indeed, Mr Panties you know what I'm talking about. Especially that night when you thought it was all over and in actual fact the bartender just asked you if you were right - not gay mate eh - you should really stick to what you know and stop harassing us innocent party people who just go out for a dance without taking scorecards and leave Poor party promoters who just want the best for there guests to deliver the goods. Is it true that BND and you and EC are all having you won Titanic float in the MG parade if so I dont think it should sink like some of you dumb dumb dumb theories regarding parties. On a technical note the pitch control on a turntable is for adjusting the speed of the platter. and the stop/start button makes it spin or not. Foldback is not a drug term in DJ circles so I read in revolver even Brad Wright the lighting guru knows that if you put your toaster in the water in will die if you Know what I mean. Party on on fellow gay icons. lettuce rejoice picles I could reveal who Mr P is but that would be like telling people he is a real Xsdof6438 eh
Jeremy - Fri Feb 11 1:38:01 2000
Jeremy - you sound like a big dickhead.
The idiot formerly known as... - Fri Feb 11 9:45:17 2000
Huh?
Nat - Fri Feb 11 10:31:16 2000
Well, someone had to be the first to use this!
Fri Feb 11 10:59:17 2000
Do you know what I H.A.T.E.? Lame arse logos like this one! The party itself was
only kicking down open doors...really 1995! Its a sign of the times when parties
are more about corporate savvy and "e" logos. Isn't this meant to be a community
listings board? The Alan X track on the Luke Leal Cd is cheesey as! I'm going
to buy a ticket to your party, just to throw a bottle at him for making us endure
such shite
cant wait to throw! - Fri Feb 11 14:02:44 2000
Thank you Mr Bitter Failed promoter! Seems that you keep going back to Ice for more and more! Your "kicking down open doors" campaign arrives before and after each Ie, so either you love it to death, or love enduring pain, or you just pretend to go. Well, I went to all of them and they were f***ing fantastic! Would love to know what was 1995 about them! Now, go back to your DNA magazine and sell some content, coz you failed miserably with your last Metro party in October 1999! Let the professionals of today do it so much better than you ever could! One can understand your jealousy!
Fri Feb 11 14:36:43 2000
Excuse me whats DNA? And the Metro? Sorry darl, Im not your ex boyfriend but I
do recomend therapy for you delusions !!!!!!
Take Aim! - Fri Feb 11 14:43:01 2000
Uh huh! ne notices that he did not answer the 1995 quesions of the other guy.
But I think the logo is great - instantly recognisable and I am sure it is part
of their fantastic success. I am looking forward to "Take Aim" being belted into
submission on this board yet again, as he has been many times before!
Fri Feb 11 14:50:56 2000
I hope this site has beed hacked - or have you sold out Panther?? It just seems
to be a sounding board for more corporate promoters.
Fri Feb 11 15:13:42 2000
I'll buy you that beer Take Aim!
LOL - Fri Feb 11 15:25:26 2000
The logo looks to much like e-uro. That night at the shift. Good inspiration fellas!
Are you part of Ice Panther?
Fri Feb 11 15:30:55 2000
Please no. It was bad enough before. Now it really is turning into the ICE wall. Would some other promoters please email their logos to Pnather.
Nat - Fri Feb 11 16:11:28 2000
Well after their last party, deservedly so. Other than Frisky there is not much else happening on that sort of front. Do HE etc HAVE a logo?
Chilled - Fri Feb 11 20:01:58 2000
What's with the Ice crap? Is it a sponsorship deal? Jeremy I don't know what you are full of mate but it's not helping your cognitive skills at all ;-)
EC - Fri Feb 11 22:01:30 2000
EC not corective fluid on the scope, ouch you silly billy...
stop turning that damn light on and off please
Jem - Sat Feb 12 0:58:47 2000
Hi Jeremy. wanna tell me my initials ?
Mr Panties - Sat Feb 12 4:44:59 2000
Harbour Party just sold out. Loads of punters lined up and missed out. Whats goingon
with this logo. Very corporate! Whats happenned to you Panther? Are you on holidays?
If you need money I can suggest better ways of making a buck than selling out.
The Ice promoters (and several others) have used this board with a myryad of different
nicks to publicise events. Using a logo kind of attaches/endorses them. I think
you can do better Panther, stay indie!
Sat Feb 12 10:45:06 2000
Please read the top of the wall.
Panther - Sat Feb 12 11:05:53 2000
psssssst Jeremy, try to make some semse with your messages. I really didnt understand that one & I'm a primary school teacher. my 7 year olds have better grammar & punctuation skills.

Sat Feb 12 14:32:07 2000
Jeremy/JEM, who ever... you've caught me out ? you dont have a clue who I am.
Mr Panties - Sat Feb 12 15:00:56 2000
Jeremy: I think it must be time to take your medication.
TW - Sat Feb 12 17:25:39 2000
Let's just make that, 'you don't have a clue'.
EC - Sat Feb 12 17:27:02 2000
I am dissapointed at the lack of respect shown to the gay community by both the ticket sellers and queue jumpers and their friends at the selling of ‘Harbour Party’ tickets at the Toolshed, Darlinghurst today.
Many hundreds of people queued from early in the morning for the right to purchase tickets. At around 8am a staff member went down the queue looking at the numbers and informing many that they would get a chance to buy tickets but no numbered coupons were handed out to ensure that tickets sales went in the order that people arrived in the queue. As a result large number of people 'pushed in' and those who had waited longest got pushed further back. Hundreds of people who had queued many hours were turned away.
The Toolshed, Newtown handed out numbered coupons.
The Tooshed, Darlinghurst needs more professionalism to handle large scale ticket sales and the queue jumpers and those that allow them in should think about the rights of others.
Jordan - Sat Feb 12 20:51:40 2000
I only say this in an effort to help the Toolsheds improve customer relations. They sell a lot of the advance tickets we allocate, but there is middle aged guy who works in there during the day that is very difficult ... rude in the extreme to our ticket buyers and to us when we check on sales. So much attitude! Wayne, if you or your friends read this, you really have to los that guy, your business at the store near The Shift would do so much better without him.
A promoter - Sat Feb 12 21:08:41 2000
If you think that sort of queue jumping is bad, how about all the people who miss out on the Harbour Party because so many tickets are 'pre-sold' to people who happen to be friends and friends of friends of the sellers. And no, its not a myth.
Sat Feb 12 21:34:19 2000
hey homo was the best it has ever been last nite... alex taylor had the crowd so fully pumped it was electric... thank you for the dance floor experience of a lifetime....
disco bitch....* - Sun Feb 13 1:34:49 2000
I've just come from the Perth International Arts Festival's 'Watershed' - festival club - in the cultural centre mall. Man, now that's the way to put on a party. Incredible music, fantastic atmosphere. More more more.
Sun Feb 13 5:15:48 2000
Hey Homo pumps once again!! Alex bringing some new material into play...fantastic. Shows and lasers were great, and the crowd was happy/friendly/handsome and into it as usual. Great night!!
jeffgg - Sun Feb 13 9:23:58 2000
Wow! Have to agree about hey homo- I've only just resurfaced!Alex Taylor is too good..... : - ))))Thanks to all who attended
MsThing - Sun Feb 13 13:50:53 2000
I have to agree with the other postings - hey homo was wild! Had a ball and its great to get away from ARQ even if it is once a month. Hey Homo Mardi Gras recovery - you have my $$$. On a side note, Jeremy, you might want to learn to write before you start using names like Brad Wright in your postings - he deserves better than that.
James - Sun Feb 13 19:25:07 2000
I reckonBrad wright is a great lighting man he's clever
JEM - Sun Feb 13 23:01:25 2000
A great Hey Homo!? Well, it be, apparently, one of the last. Ask me why?
Mon Feb 14 9:40:57 2000
Re: Brad Wright, he deserves SO much credit - Without him, Home,ARQ & Frisky would be big black holes with loud music. (Sorry james, dont understand your message?? When did Jeremy mention Brad?)
LPD - Mon Feb 14 9:46:34 2000
(Mon Feb 14 9:40:57 2000) Not true, but tantalise us with your goss anyway.....

Happy Valentines Day....Did anyone else get flowers?????
Mon Feb 14 9:50:58 2000
Got flowers (yawn) but where's my root?
LPD - Mon Feb 14 9:52:53 2000
why was Hey Homo possibly the last one ? here's why.... Sublime is closing on March 18. they were looking for a new warehouse style space around Alexandria but couldnt find anything... Home is in major financial trouble, so they offered Sublime a 50% share of Home. Home will remain doing the saturday night thing and Sublime will take over Friday nights, with the whole roster of Sublime Djs playing on friday nights (Cargo in the main room, Voodoo in the silver room, Beat Fix on the terrace) without Sublime buying into Home, the club would have closed pretty soon.
Mr Panties - Mon Feb 14 11:49:13 2000
Mr Panties... you impress me with the breadth of your knowledge and connections.
The idiot formerly known as... - Mon Feb 14 12:04:21 2000
And Sublime has been bought by Tooheys so we may well lose that venue as a club. Does anyone know what Toohey's are going to do with it?
Nat - Mon Feb 14 12:07:41 2000
Had a great weekend at ARQ. Sunday Club was fantastic and I am kinda spoeechless as Greg Boladian played a fantastic set last night. Sorry Luke but Greg Rules OK.
GoHard-or-GoHome - Mon Feb 14 12:30:38 2000
I agree wholeheartedly with 'a promoter' about this particular staff member at the toolshed, darlinghurst - i have been on the receiving end of his nastyness - i got back at him when he mis-charged me for mardi gras tickets a few years back and i got them for free. he is a prize arsehole.
still pissed off - Mon Feb 14 13:00:15 2000
I'm sure he felt a great deal of pain about the free tickets. After all, the money goes to him doesn't it?
Mon Feb 14 13:21:51 2000

Tooheys will be turning Sublime into a Tavern, yes, a Tavern ! I havent been into a tavern since the late 70's when my parents used to take us to this particular one for dinner (god knows what the hell was going on in their heads) but I rememer they served really good chicken schnitzel with corn "on the cob" !
Mr Panties - Mon Feb 14 14:49:35 2000
and who said he wasnt qualified to comment ?
Chi Chi Fontaine - Mon Feb 14 16:08:05 2000
what did i say about hey homo moving? happy valentines day kids. This club rivalry
has got to stop. uber clubs, whatever they're called all provide a service. euro-trance..........mmmm,well
personally I think it' s the training wheels of dance music. I can enjoy it, yet
whilst we ride the final crest of what gatecrasher and europe enjoyed with their
relived-summer of love, I hope the sounds will dig a little deeper. sure, arq
on sunday night goes for the emotive building euro sound, but thats what works
for now and we all should know, sooner or later something new will happen and.....well
you know the deal. let love shine! wherever you go and whatever venue you choose
to be at.
guardian angel - Mon Feb 14 16:18:08 2000
yes, what did you say about hey homo moving to arq Mr Angel, whoever you are.
mmmmmm, methinks we have the same snoop. I love euro, so our tastes are different
although, if you are you who i think you are I've seen you doing your euro thing
downstairs at arq on a sun night??????...W???
Mon Feb 14 16:45:29 2000
Still the Advetorial continues
Mon Feb 14 18:59:50 2000
No other promoter has sent icons yet.
Panther - Mon Feb 14 20:47:15 2000
Was told to read pinkboard tonight - all this excitement over..?.?? hehehe Whilst here thought that I would correct Mr Panties - get your facts right before you post them. The official word I have been given from home is: Simon Page has sold Sublime and brought 20% share of home - not 50%, he is now the Australian managing director of the club/big beat. The club had been looking for a new MD and the timing with Simon seemed to fit. I find it very hard to belive that the club would have shut without Sublime buying into it...
You are correct about the nights being rolled into one on Fridays, however, that does not mean the end of hey homo or that its going anywhere. Im sure the advertising for hey homos 1st birthday will be out soon - for those who havent heard its Mardi Gras Recovery (5th March), you would hope that my info is closer to the mark seeing I am senior tech :)
Brad Wright - Mon Feb 14 21:20:11 2000
If I have made a mistake above im sure somebody from the club correct me.
Brad Wright - Mon Feb 14 21:25:19 2000
ok, I admit it - sorry! I screwed up on the 50%/20% thang, but... it is a fact that Home would have closed in the near future if Sublime hadnt stepped in. btw.. that Ice icon is a bit ugly. can we dump it ? (no, I aint slagging off Ice, just the use of its icon on pinkboard)
Mr Panties - Mon Feb 14 23:44:19 2000
Brad Wright you certainly are on the inside, How was your Valentine's Day did martin/vari*lite send you a card or a gobo in the shape of a heart? Out of curiosity what music do you like considering you hear so much of it. This question genuine. Us normal paying customers (well non industry types) always like to know what the pro's enjoy.
Fitz - Mon Feb 14 23:46:15 2000
Panther ? did Ice simply send you the icon or did you request it from them ? who asked who ?
Mon Feb 14 23:46:41 2000
Mr Panties wanna date on this Valentines day night how bout a caht thing?
a big fan - Mon Feb 14 23:50:01 2000
Have a look at the top of the board. For those who missed it, Panther asked for all promoters to send in their logos. Ice was chosen first coz it was easily extracted from their website. There is no conspiracy! Come HE and others, get em into Panther!
In the know - Tue Feb 15 11:58:38 2000
Warning: the law are looking very closely @ venues around the cross over MG. Targetting
drugs of course (sex on licenced venues is illegal too) Be careful while partying
out there kids. Be prepared. I don't believe they'll ignore an event with a logo
like this one either.
Tue Feb 15 12:17:24 2000
Why would HE want to put their fabulous art-work on this site?? Especially a long side of losers like ice?
Tue Feb 15 12:41:54 2000
hey "big fan" send me a love letter & a pic of yourself to mr_panties_2000@yahoo.com.au
Mr Panties (feelin' romantic) - Tue Feb 15 13:08:44 2000
soliciting on Pinkboard Mr Panties? tsk. how trashy.
EC - Tue Feb 15 14:49:59 2000
The law will be looking at all parties over the period, especially capacity issues. They visit the Palladium every week, and found no issues with previous Ice parties. Can't see why this one would be any different. Promoters aren't stupid.
Tue Feb 15 15:22:43 2000
Corret...promoters, esp from ice, are just vein and ignorant. Besides, they're in bed with Mardi Gras...need I say more?
Tue Feb 15 15:27:51 2000
EC, if he's not my type, I'll throw him to you
Mr Panties - Tue Feb 15 15:59:48 2000
you're so vein
Tue Feb 15 17:50:24 2000
Ignorant? I bet they can at least spell "vain"!!!
Tue Feb 15 18:45:18 2000
Can some one answer this for me?Under the liquer licencing laws venues with a "hotel" licence must make available 1 bar to the public at all times (ie they cant charge to get in).As I understand nearly all of our GAY venues hold the "hotel" licence
so why do we get charged to enter them? Have the licencing laws changed? Or are these venues ripping off our "pink dollars".
Some are gay owned and some are str8 owned. So they are all ripping us off.Wonder if the liquer licencing police are really that interested in enforcing the law?
Can any one help me with this queery???
pink $ - Tue Feb 15 18:51:22 2000
Nighclub licences can charge for entry. That's why The Shift downstairs is free. If they charge then perhaps it is an issue.
Tue Feb 15 18:59:11 2000
What about Arq/DCM/N-V/Barracks.They all have 2 or more barswithin their venues. The simple fact is "Nightclub" licences are very far and few between. The shift is a hotel. And they have been known to charge entry for the "whole" venue.
pink$ - Tue Feb 15 19:20:52 2000
Ripping off your pink dollars? It's a bit hard to make a living out of a nightclub when everyone is on drugs and drinking water. Get the idea? Try going out to a nightclub in london ...
Tue Feb 15 20:57:53 2000
I not long ago had a conversation regarding the potential loss of profits in recent years (drug usage vs alcohol) "venues" might have suffered but apparently when the patrons have chosen other things to take, sales of H20 are very very profitable. H20 is easy to handle, store serve etc. I don't know if the claim to me that a bottle of water say 500ml costs as little a 30c per unit when purchased in bulk, then sold for up to $4-50. It might be easier to accept that drug usage is as good as customers drinking. Any other thoughts on this.... Mr Berry Dawn ... Nanette.. Lee ... Ian... Chaad.. Simon... et al oops
A very naughty boy - Wed Feb 16 2:26:04 2000
Mr Panties, I think we will have to agree to disagree on the home shutting down thing. Many of you dont relaise how many corporate launches we do and how much it can cost to hire the entire club for a day. Also im sure that the big boys in London wouldnt let the club go down especially with the Olympics looming. In fact we are trading everynight of the Olympics - I think we are the official nightclub for officials/athletes or something like that...all I know is I need operators for each night and SOBO are filming this Sat night. Another thing to suggest we are not doing to bad is the amount of $$ just spent on the renovations to home bar - if you havent seen it you should go down for a drink one night.... Just relaised this is becoming very pro home.....heheh. To Fitz, no heart shape gobo's.... :( Just a phone call from overseas *grin*. Re music I enjoy. Hmm where do I start, I have a wide range, as a general rule I will only light music I like, its really hard to light music when you are bored off your tits...!! So I guess all the stuff played at home, ARQ, Frisky and ICE. When at home (the one with my bed) it can be very different.
Brad Wright - Wed Feb 16 13:33:25 2000
Sublime is over! Hurray! Now they are going to home. Booo! Hey Homo to Arq. Boo!.
Wed Feb 16 14:50:10 2000
Why would you cheer the demise of Sublime? I think it is a great loss to Sydney's night/clublife.
Nat - Wed Feb 16 16:25:33 2000

to quote the wet dreamin blurb - "The party is byo, although smart drinks and party 'e'ssentials will be available"... are they selling ecstasy at the party ? why are all these parties making such an effort to highlight the letter "E" ? it's so damn tacky. reminds me of the early '90s rave scene. dont we have any sophisticated promoters left ? come back Jamie & Vannessa ! come back Jac Vidgen ! come back Victor Lee !
Mr Blackwell - Sat Feb 19 13:15:02 2000
Mr Blackwell.... As hosts of wet dreamin' we are smart enough to accept that people
will use party enhancers. As hosts we want to ensure that our party is as safe
as it can be considering this. The party 'e'ssentials refers to plenty of water,
sugar & energy drinks, chupa chups etc. available at reasonable prices, to keep
peoples bodies on the right track whilst high energy dancing. Further more we
will pay a 'dogs body'to run around and hand out sweets to ensure blood sugar
levels are maintained. We will also be handing out individual cards explaining
what to do if you get in trouble or see someone else in trouble, along with posters
for the toilets etc. Our security are totally gay friendly and trained in all
aspects of first aid, as well. As party hosts we believe that we have done everything
possible to ensure a 'safe' dance party event and this is precisely the point
that we were referring to, without stating all of the above. But now we have!
The people in the dance party scene, which this event is aimed at, would have
noted 'e'ssentials and known that their needs would be catered for. Too sophisticated
maybe?????

Mr Blackwell - everything comes an goes in cycles, like the economic cycle. And as a curernt promoter I am proud to say that the people you mentioned retired before I was born, so to today's partygoers it is all new. Rejoice in the return of OUT FM, be happy with your fellow retirees! We don't dance to Barbara anymore!
Babe - Sat Feb 19 19:23:59 2000
oh pulease. as if I'd dance to Barbara ? I feel sorry for you Babe. you missed out on the best parties that Sydney has ever seen.
Mr Blackwell - Sat Feb 19 20:07:57 2000

ElectricBoy - Mon Feb 21 13:09:28 2000
Certainly hang the dj. What's the fuss. A few years ago they where under-rated
now there over-rated. Every young boy and girl wants to be one. Every comment
on this board is about one. International dj's get flown out and paided tens-of-thousands
of $$$ for a few hours. Has this become the new "super-model" industry? If so
then I'm opening up an agencey, so I can make some big bucks on behalf of their
talent, feed them drugs and screw them stupid.

Well, here's something interesting - a new compilation from MDS/Dancenet called
'Gay In The Life - adventures in queer underground', 'compiled' by Symour Butz
and Nick Wales. Lots of interesting stuff, some a bit too 'underground' for me,
and a real dig at party boy culture called Lycra Or Not by Pokeaman (which is
Seymour, Gemma and Alterboy) lol.

Tue Feb 22 11:50:17 2000
Yeah! Of course the general public won't mind.
Tue Feb 22 11:51:59 2000
Don't worry about the general public. They'll be too busy looking over the fence from Bent Street into the party.
Tue Feb 22 16:18:59 2000
no, they wont be looking over the fence. Fox closes early for Mardi Gras.

Is it true that Fox closes early for Mardi Gras..?? Have been there a few times
recently and have tried to work out how they were going to fence it all off and
came up with the simple fact that it would have been a nightmare.
James - Tue Feb 22 21:41:21 2000

Thu Feb 24 11:39:32 2000

JGT - Thu Feb 24 11:55:58 2000
My weekend will be the bars to pick up the tourists on Friday or maybe Hellfire
and then Homo Eclectus on Saturday, since I had the best time at their previous
two parties. (best music for a queer crowd) Sunday, who knows - probably passed
out in a man somewhere. Tilt, by the way, is the following Saturday - It's always
the second Saturday of the month.
TH - Thu Feb 24 14:06:29 2000
thanks TH, that'd mean then that this Saturday is the men's thing at Icebox... I think it's called Heat or something like that.

Crisco in a tub??

slut - Thank you for pointing that out. Mayby it will be you that I pass out in,
on Sunday....Can you supply the Crisco?
TH - Thu Feb 24 14:45:33 2000

Sensational party. Robert Racic played the wicked set. What about Carnival Erotica? I feel that the new mardi gras team are about to give us the most creative party to date.

Hey Gay Groover....the alternative party to Mardi Gras is Homo Eclectus. You'll
find the creme of Sydney's queer community at this amazing party...plenty of visuals
for your eyes as well as ground breaking music for your ears. The upstairs room
will feature the very best in techno/acid techno, while the downstairs venue will
include an eclectic mix of sexy, funky, groovy, hard and bizarre oh-so-dance-floor-friendly
tunes. And contrary to any rumours, the sound systems on both floors are just
fine. The party is being held at the Palladium, Kings Cross, from 10pm til very
late. Hope to c u there!

affordably on Monday morning, the promoters of Ice and Hey Homo announce MediKation,
at DCM. The club will be closed at 6am and reopened at 7am for our MediKation
ticket holders only. 8 DJs over 8 hours, including Alex Taylor, Luke Leal, CoCo,
Lexie, Baby Bear and two internationals. With the name MediKation, some of you
should be able to guess who one of the internationals is! Tix ar $15 for holders
of Ice, Hey Homo, Out and Frisky ticket holders, and $20 for everyone else, available
from Butch, Daly Mail and Mephisto. Tickets will probably not be sold at the door

Re Sound at Harbour Party - the conditions were perhaps the worst possible for the audio restrictions needed to not breach the act - flat harbour surface, low cloud cover and a southerly blowing. This pushed the sound straight into the residents of Kirribilli coupled with the noise coming from Tropfest. This was unfortunate and regretable leading to a very low level being obtainable for the middle part of the party (and unfortunately Kate's set). The level was able to be raised later after Tropfest ceased and the wind settled. Hope this explains the comments made regarding this element of the Party.
She who was most frustrated - Wed Mar 1 19:30:58 2000
The gatecrasher DJs will be two digital mixing computers with a CD jukebox attached playing Dutch trancepurse.
Wed Mar 1 19:53:58 2000
I won't mention the appropriateness of turning down the sound during Kate's set. I will say that there is a God!
Wed Mar 1 22:41:39 2000
No promoter is a loud to bring extra sound into the Palladium anymore.
Thu Mar 2 1:52:54 2000
ah, but are they allowed?
Thu Mar 2 2:41:11 2000
To clear up any rumours and misgivings about the sound system @ the Palladium...the Palladium are reconfiguring the upstairs sound system to ensure there are no further sound issues. The sound system has been tested and 'put on display' to various promoters, and the feedback has been very positive. Rest assured, there are NO sound issues at the Palladium.

Thieves on the door at Arq!
On Thursday night I went to Malcolm's party at Arq and got searched at the door - like everyone else. The goon searching me found a Tic Tac container with pills in it, confiscated it and then told me to get out. I was later allowed in, but the pills had disappeared. (I guess the security goon was keeping them for himself.) I think just about everybody who went in probably had pills. But somehow I was singled out. Be careful where you put your pills and put them in a soft container. And pick somewhere else to go this party season.
This kind of behaviour from security folks in "our community" is totally lame!

Hey Homo on the Sun after MG started out well. It was billed as the "Grand Finale" and "First Birthday Celebration", but nothing was made of either on the night. Sadly, the usual laser show was missing, which seemed to take away some of the Hey Homo atmosphere. The 2 shows were pretty good, and Alex Taylor was fantastic, as always. Who the hell was the DJ that came on after the 4am show? Way to kill a party!! Being the "Grand Finale" (if it was....but I hope not), I reckon it would have been much better if Alex had continued playing and kept the party pumping. Oh well, be interesting to see what the promoters do with Hey Homo now. Hope it continues in some form or another, minus that final DJ.
jeffgg - Tue Mar 7 8:30:39 2000
I was at Ice which never seems to disappoint. Their internationals were well chosen, and it was interesting to hear Wayne G play almost completely differntly to his MG set. The usual laser shows and a few screaming tourists thrown in. And the orgy behind the curtain. It is great to have a party which is consistently great. How was Frisky and ARQ?
Still recovering - Tue Mar 7 12:07:39 2000

Tue Mar 7 16:24:51 2000
Can I just ask who it was that picked Gavin Bright to play at Mardi Gras?? The guy can't mix green cordial. He was shocking - I'm not a DJ but I could tell how off his mixing was. How about letting someone with some talent DJ next year. Whilst on the subject, Wayne G wasn't much chop either, but I have heard him before at Ice and he was gr8, so maybe just a bad set huh? Jake Kilby with the old disco set was a riot - could dance away to him all night.
LPD - Tue Mar 7 17:13:08 2000
Agreed - you can't dance to Gavin Bright's beats or you'd break your leg. Don't know who he sucked to get to play MG. He was crap - not to mention he's a rude prick as well! As far as security at ARQ stealing our drugs - mongrels! Hope you overdose. It's not the only club that does it either - most of them do. Sad.
QOS - Tue Mar 7 17:22:59 2000
Nice to see someone write something sweet about Jake Kilby, he is actually extremely underated. Good work.
Tue Mar 7 17:23:43 2000
Jake is stereotyped and capable of much more. Hope he gets a ground breaking gig soon
Tue Mar 7 17:39:45 2000
The Homo Eclectus party was really good. Most fun I've ever had at a dance party.
The Palladium staff were friendly and seemed happy to be there. The DJs on both
levels were interesting enough that it was hard to choose between the floors.
The eclectic crowd that the promotion aimed at came out in droves, with pleasing
results. Lots of freaky looking types, both gay and straight, who didn't bat an
eyelid at the 7' hermaphrodite, the leathermen group sex scene on the dance floor
or the S&M going on in the corner. To the guy we pulled out of the k-hole, hope
you got home OK.
Devil's Felch - Tue Mar 7 18:03:04 2000
Thanks Wayne. We did like the lower floor stage!
Tue Mar 7 19:01:17 2000
Gavan is not a rude prick ! he's one of the few dj's that in my opinion doesnt have attitude and I really liked what he played at the party (I only heard him until 12.30ish) I think QOS & LPD is the same person that always throws shit on Gavan
Mr Panties - Wed Mar 8 0:58:22 2000
I think Gavan played a great set, and he is defintly not a rude prick. I thought his music selection was fab and I had more fun dancing to his set than any other on the night! thanks to all the DJ's for a great night, it was one of the best parties I've ever been to.
Wed Mar 8 9:38:50 2000
So true Mr Panties! The fact that LPD felt he had to justify that he is not a DJ suggests that he probably is.He appears to have a nasty and vindictive streak. Now which DJ fits that profile?
Wed Mar 8 9:49:07 2000
ICE was great but there was no orgy going on anywhere there. In fact, it was surprisingly
unsleazy.
Nat - Wed Mar 8 11:24:14 2000
Those Ho Ho Homo Eclectus dj's extraordinaire Lanny K and Miss Yetti are keepin' it going this post-MG weekend at the Icebox at the third "Tilt - a strictly chemical point of view" party. They'll be joined by Steve Sonius and Matchbox for 8 hours of hard/harder/hardest from 10pm-6am, and it's cheap! $10 on the door - no presales, no corporate logos, no corporate sponsorship, no shows, no decor, no attitude ... just great music from our fave dj's.
Come and support a truly independent queer night at the very opposite of a superclub - little Icebox in Kellett St Kings Cross - before it all goes! (Charlie the owner is feeling a lot of financial pressure to drop the Gay/Lesbian/Queer nights like Fishtank, Milkbar, Tilt and Bombed because he thinks not enough G/L/Q punters are ever prepared to leave Oxford St or the multinational superclubs to come to his little venue).
Do we really wanna give in to the London style burgerization of clubbing ... where indy promoters are muscled out of the market by foreign-controlled megabucks? Opinions are more than welcome (especially if we're pissing in the wind).
See ya Saturday night!
Yes, I'm one of the promoters of Tilt.

The music at ice was brilliant as was the guy with the red lightstick dancing
near me. However, i was under the impression there were meant to be 2 floors,
innovative shows and better lighting. The chill space was smaller than a dogs

smacks of another case of false promotion. Am I wrong?
spamming it up - Wed Mar 8 15:57:46 2000
Thank you most scincerely to everyone who supported us in promoting Homo Eclectus
- The ticket outlets, Mephisto Leathers, Kaysers Laytex, Acetate Records, Raspberry
Records/The Oxford Hotel/The Sydney Star Obverser - and our friends who spent
tireless weeks beforehand preparing the many props, shows, etc., and who donated
their entire day to help setup the venue. To our punters: Once again you have
outdone yourselves to create original outfits, and to go completely overboard
in creating one of the queerest party atmospheres that Sydney has ever seen. The
best preparation in the world is worthless, without a fantastic crowd of people
to go with it. Thank You.

Ice - have read the newsletter and there was nothing about being on 2 floors.
Apparently there is something horrible on downstairs at The Palladium every Sunday
night that just won't go away. The orgy, for those who always miss it, is behind
the curtain at the back of the top floor. And is was definitely happening, including
at least one DJ whose name I will not mention.Chill space was the front bar area
which covers 1/3 of the upstairs space. This was too small? Better lighting? Hello,
four lasers, 6 stage lights, 4 scans and awesome strobes, it left ARQ for dead,
and provided the laser show that Home did not. And the only party on the whole
weekend besides MG itself to offer two big internationals and no disppointments
in the music. Compare the lighting to what was at JoJo's underwear party and see
that these guys outshine Frisky, all things being equal. Did you miss the show?
Yes spamming it up, you were wrong.

Hello all, what a long weekend!! Have been reading through and thought that I
would point out a few things. Firstly LPD is female definately not male. Re drugs
being taken from you at ARQ, well, as we all know Drugs are illegal and basically
its getting pretty bad in the bigger clubs. The clubs are being more assertive
re drug use/dealing. Anybody that was at "home" over the weekend would have seen
the warnings abot GBB, and Viagra yet we had 4 ambulances called to the club and
closed very early. "Home" like ARQ is starting to feel the pressure. ARQ search
your bags on entry, home have medical staff on duty and an ambulance waiting out
the back. Lots of the problems being experienced are due to GBH, this drug could
see major problems in our clubs which for many of us is a main source of income.
Im no angel, however after chatting with some people over the weekend and seeing
the effects of GBH realise why the clubs are cracking down. The olympics are looming
and we dont want a death in a Sydney club, let alone a death in our community
or even a death of a friend. Its time to wake up. On a different note; unfortunately
as many of you may know the guys from Oracle lasers couldnt get the power supply
going at home on Sunday night, however, I wasn't to pissed off seeing the amount
of work they did especially at Mardi Gras - What a show!!!

Damon - Fri Mar 10 1:17:06 2000
Since this is the party wall, I thought I would thank the usually awesome crowd that makes Frisky what it is. SJ, singing "I Feel Divine" was riddled with the flu and had very little voice which we tried to keep up and happening in the mix. I guess from the lack of comments here, everyone was happy on the night - I certainly had a ball with Stephen's awesome lighting. To all the other promoters I had the pleasure of working with over the madness - thanks for a great party season. Maybe we can all rest a little before the Easter period. (I'm sure that will happen - not!)

Ally McPanties - Fri Mar 10 13:38:53 2000
Brad Wright, You are.....Right. GHB would have to be the single worst development in this subculture. As one, with many years experience supplying medical services at major community events, I believe that no "buzz" could be worth the risk. Any illicit substance taken has its risks, however this one has far too many. My (informed) advice is stay away from the stuff. Find your "fun" elsewhere.
Medic - Fri Mar 10 18:29:53 2000
you dont even get a good "buzz" from GHB. it's such a pathetic drug. you'd feel better if you took 20 Sudafeds
Coco La Chicci - Sat Mar 11 2:41:17 2000
Oh my Lord, thank god for the security at the doors of ARQ! They are protecting our community from the ravages of all chemicals in that space. And good on them too! Tonight, I have to admit, I did try to get into the establishment with a wee brown bottle in my pocket. Smelling salts mind. Purely medicinal. But no - the courteous (?) door person (?) said that I could not enter with anything like that! Good on you kind sir for keeping our community safe from dreadfully harmful stuff like that......Now, watch the headlines for GBH from ARQ. I'm sure it will never happen.
Who....cynical.....Me? - Sat Mar 11 6:05:27 2000
I have had many a fun time on GBH - it is a pity that human instincts include greed.
get it right girls - GBH - Sat Mar 11 15:23:53 2000
Hey Homo Closing early due to 4 GBH overdoses, ARQ having licensing down their throat and having to do drug searches as a result. All due to lack of descretion when taking drugs and of course everyone trying to get more and more out of it at every party or night out. It is about time we all learned from these experiences and appreciate what we have before it is all gone.
cumtoyoursenses - Sat Mar 11 18:29:12 2000
they did get it right - it's GHB, not GBH - the drug of choice for morons.
Sat Mar 11 19:14:34 2000
Can anyone report on how dangerous GHB is? How many people go to hospital because of it compared to, say, ecstasy? Is it because people use it with alcohol and other drugs?
Sun Mar 12 12:04:00 2000

Noosa Party animals - Sun Mar 12 15:11:10 2000
Whats this I hear Alex Taylor and Coco playing at Home tonight?
Sun Mar 12 16:11:35 2000
im no expert so please do not take this as gospel, but as a long time user of GBH ive fallen to it, but i have also had some of the best drug experiences on it. yes it is a dangerous drug, especially in the hands of people who are not too familiar with it, but then what drug isnt!?! if you are using it just play it safe, always inform someone your on it, and how much you've had. if possible buy off someone you can trust and someone who really knows what they are doing with it, ie mixing the right quantities, etc. if you are feeling you've had too much, inform someone, take a little sugar, (not too much & not an energy drink), get into some cool fresh air, stay awake/conscious, throw up or eat something to throw up. if your breathing is eratic or the situation is out of control call the ambulance, and make sure they know exactly what youve had. lying to them doesnt help.! of course the usual warnings as well - dont mix it with alcohol, nor other drugs, e's, speed, etc. there is a lot of hysteria out about GBH lately, as was with e's a few years ago. just play safe and dont overdo it.!
also check out http://www.erowid.org its a pretty handy resource on all party drugs.

"Wet Dreamin" must have confused her. Speaking of Wet Dreamin - great party! What
those guys can do to transform a small country hall is quite extraordinary. It
was almost like a miniature Hordern. Gavin was playing some pretty good stuff
as well.
Nat - Mon Mar 13 15:48:11 2000
Wet Dreamin was a sensational party! Gavin played a great set and I nearly had
a better time than Mardi Gras, even though it was the best Mardi Gras I've been
to in five years. Keep those parties coming Glen!
gmgg - Mon Mar 13 16:45:40 2000
Definitely will give Brron a go next year. Noosa was a bit hohum.
Byron in 2001! - Mon Mar 13 17:25:43 2000
Let's keep Byron a bit of a secret. We don't want such a special place to attract the wrong type of crowd, like American circuit party queens.
Nat - Tue Mar 14 9:52:16 2000
So onto the next "big" party event in Sydney - Inquisition. I have heard some rather disturbing news re the DJ line-up. While I am pleased to hear that Baby Bear will play the opening set, and thrilled to hear that Mandy Rollins is closing, I am wondering what I will do with myself during the second and third sets which are to be played by Kate Monroe and Paul Goodyear. Is the music played by Kate and Paul really appropriate for a sleazy leather dance party, or are Leather Pride more concerned about ensuring that they get the numbers to fill the Hordern and dilute the leather crowd attending? By trying to please everyone Leather Pride may end up pleasing noone. And if my info re the above DJ line-up is wrong, I hope someone will correct me.
Nat - Tue Mar 14 10:07:00 2000
Hey Nat, I second your emotion ... what the hell are these two "hands-in-the-air"
types doing playing at Inquisition? What about all the DJ's who actually have
made an effort to be supportive of the leather scene over the years - like Steve
Sonius, Buck Naked, Lanny K, Miss Yetti, 2Hard, even Sveta for chrissake! As someone
who straps on the chaps each and every week I'm sure it'll make me think twice
before buying a ticket, while I'm equally sure it'll have the opposite effect
on the non-leather scene who seem to be increasing in number each year (and who
treat it as a freak show in the same way that the straights do at Mardi Gras).
Maybe the Homo Eclectus Crew could get together with a few other queer promoters
(like Black and Octopussy) and put on an alternative Inquisition ... but how pathetic
it sounds to even suggest that.
a demoralised dom - Tue Mar 14 11:19:59 2000
What are Leather Pride doing even entertaining the idea of Paul Goodyear & Kate
Monroe playing at Inquisition? neither are appropriate and they should leave them
to play their fluff at Arq. If Homo Eclectus are thinking of putting on another
alternative party, then this would be the time. If this is the correct line up
for Inquistion I know that it'll also make me think twice before buying a ticket.
Has Leather Pride lost it's way like Mardi Gras?
dk - Tue Mar 14 12:09:45 2000
If homo eclectus are thinking of putting on another party, perhaps they shoul
become a bit more "eclectic"
come on you married couples, diversify! - Tue Mar 14 12:24:43 2000
Faye Raye was hired to choose & book the DJ's for Inquisition. talk to her about it.
Mr Panties - Tue Mar 14 12:28:47 2000
Faye I thought you had better taste in music.
Tue Mar 14 13:29:37 2000
Very sad if the Inquisition DJ's are true - even sadder because in my book this is the event of the year - but now, like Mardi Gras it seems to be becoming (grammar?) just another party. There is nowhere better to strap on the chaps, and sadly, regardless of who the DJs are and how awful they may be, i'll be there.
lovin' it. - Tue Mar 14 13:29:40 2000
Paul G played very hard very early at the Pride2000 party. He was great, maybe too hard for the crowd. But Kate? Sigh.
Tue Mar 14 13:33:31 2000
Yeah right, just like he plays hard every week at Arq as well! sigh. To lovin' it, if we turn up at the party just for the sake of it, then they'll think they've got it right and possibly hire the same fluff again. Inquisition is the highlight of my year, as far as parties go, but I won't go and listen to fluff just for the sake of it.
fluff - Tue Mar 14 14:15:13 2000
There are some things that I will sacrifice on principle, but Inquisition is not one of them. Besides, there are things to do other than dance at Inquisition.
lovin' it. - Tue Mar 14 15:08:29 2000
Kate Monroe is the Gwynith Paltrow of Sydney club life. can you smell over-exposure ?
Mr Blackwell - Tue Mar 14 15:44:37 2000
Im disinclined to bag djs but Kate is incredibly inconsistent and her mixing is the pits. why is she everywhere again all of a sudden?
Tue Mar 14 16:50:12 2000
Her girlfriend is a very good manager. Kate is also a lovely person who presents herself very well. Shame about her music.
Nat - Tue Mar 14 16:55:30 2000
I for one have always enjoyed Kate's sets..I think she plays certain styles to accomodate certain venues. Maybe she will surprise you all.Go get them Kate!!!
^Kerry - Tue Mar 14 17:10:20 2000
I hope the above information about the DJ lineup at 'Inqisition' is untrue. As a long term attendee i think the whole move to the Hordern and the more commercial base will destroy the flavour of the 'leather party' Either way i will attend and reserve my judgement ....... watch this space.
Green Park Guy - Tue Mar 14 17:42:42 2000
2nd DJ at Arq on Sunday Night/Monday morning, what the hell were you doing! Never seen a dance floor grind to a slow murmur like that before. For Christ's sake, four different styles (at least) of music in no apparent order - the crowd had no idea where you were heading and consequently didn't enjoy themselves. Think boy, think! Please!
Tue Mar 14 18:28:22 2000
"Wet Dreamin'" Party Boys - Thanks for cumming and making the party the success
it was. We certainly agree with Nat's comments about Byron being a special part
of the world and keeping that a secret. It's the down-to-earth boys that give
a party like Wet Dreamin' a special friendly feel. Hope we achieved our aim of
giving the boys an excellent quality dance party, with a no attitude, & a down
& dirty, real good time...... Bummer Nat, we were aiming for a small RHI with
the lighting design! Will try harder next year. We are working on putting together
a small festival in the week following Mardi Gras, culminating on the saturday
with the Wet Dreamin' dance party. Any suggestions on the festival content would
be welcomed. Thanks again for the support and encouragement, that's the reason
we put the party together, concentrating on attention to detail. Till next year,
take care and Cum Again.....

Tue Mar 14 21:42:08 2000
So much for my keeping quiet. Nat's news about the Inquisition line-up cannot go without comment. Please Faye Raye, if Nat is correct and if you are the person responsible, think again about that lineup if its not too late. Or at the very least, change the order so that Kate and Paul are on first and those of us who cannot bare to listen to them can turn up later ie after they have finished.
TW - Tue Mar 14 22:32:28 2000
I tend to find that I come down about 10 days to a fortnight after a big party (right about now)! I have been doing some research on melatonin (which is a legal suppliment) and have found that 3 3mg tablets (recommended dose) on two seperate occasions has helped a lot, on one occasion i could feel my filthy bad mood and depression lift after about 30 min. It is typically sold for jet lag. It is very similar in chemical structure to seratonin and is created in the pineal gland. I found a lot of good information at the erowid site that was mentioned above. I am not recommending this product just letting others know what I have found.
BND - Wed Mar 15 0:00:26 2000
Wet Dreamin' those two dogs must have seriously sniffed a lot of boys bums to
get the score on how to promote a sexy party, loved by so many people. I counted
300 people still hanging out for more at 5 am in the morning. Thanks for a wild
night the Lasers, Intelligent lights, the choice of alternative DJ’s and the different
music each offered, the abundance of sex, the lack of attitude queens. Tow Dog’s
was just what the doctor recommended. See you next year 2001. Do you have a web

Why would anyone choose those DJs and put them in that order? It can't be for real. Whose the Susan Morabito and David Knapp nut that keeps posting here desperatly hoping for something which will never happen. Australia has enough of those types Djs of its own. Why import them?

I don't find Kate's music that bad and I have heard her at Sublime mixing it up fairly hard, but Paul Goodyear?

speaking of inquisition, does anyone have any details, When & where to get tix, and when is the party. I cant access their website.
Brian - Wed Mar 15 12:36:17 2000
Nat, Baaaby. No longer M.I.A.. Just been very busy with work. Had a blast at Mardi Gras in spite of the queue, the average shows and Calderone's slow death. Spent the last four hours in front of the DJ booth in the RHI. Great spot for sound, room to move and an American meathead free zone. Man, those circuit-party soldiers are walking cliches. The people who I really want to thank for such a good party are my friends because, in the end, that's what makes the difference.
Rooster - Wed Mar 15 12:39:11 2000
You are so right Rooster.
EC - Wed Mar 15 13:01:32 2000
Susan M was here for MG99. She played at Shark Hotel. A return visit would be very welcome. As for David K, I've heard him a couple of times in the States. If you love vocal house, there is no finer DJ. And of course, he's very nice on the eyes. He would be a treat at say a Frisky party. Jojo, are you listening?
Flight attendant - Wed Mar 15 13:29:06 2000
Hi to Rooster ;) Heard some good news today regarding the return of Ffierce on April 8th to a new venue in the city. April's lookin' like a very busy month (Black, Ffierce, ICE, Inquisition). I guess I'll have to polish up and rest my cha cha heels over the next couple of weeks.
Nat - Wed Mar 15 13:39:13 2000
I heard that 1/4/00's Black was cancelled/postponed. Something to do with the Palladium being hit by an anti-noise order, or something like that. Not confirmed though.
JGT - Wed Mar 15 13:51:52 2000
Is inquisition in April this year, not May?
confused - Wed Mar 15 13:55:48 2000
It's the week after Easter.
Wed Mar 15 14:00:37 2000
Rooster, you're a deaf idiot. The sound directly in front of the DJ Box was probably the worst place in the whole room for sound. Even in the middle, it was only average. Best place was each side of the stage in the alcoves where the bass mess that occurs is minimised. Unfortunately, you would be lucky to fit 200 people in this area.
Wed Mar 15 16:03:30 2000
When is inquisition - 29 April or 6 May?
Green Park Guy - Wed Mar 15 19:22:00 2000
Black has been cancelled, to return in June probably. It has nothing to do with noise probs at The Palladium, Ice and HE were cranking it still after the alleged court order. The reasons are best left unsaid, suffice to say, Black is unlikely to return in its previous forms.
Wed Mar 15 19:40:25 2000

Ffierce will be at Angel Place. Anyone been there yet? The place to be in Melbourne over Easter is Redemption.
Know All - Wed Mar 15 21:29:32 2000
Angel Place = Crap. Used to be the home of "Club Retro" have thought about recommending the venue to people. However, production = appaling. Venue is hmm...colourfull... and I just dont like it there. Sorry guys doesnt get my thumbs up - there is however an old Bank in the city which is now a function/dance party venue - I will try and find out the name. Its quite classy - sandstone and quite plush - maybe not the right venue for all parties but definately different.
More in the know - Wed Mar 15 22:50:07 2000
oh "Flight Attendant" you're such a cliche. Queen, you wouldnt know "vocal house" if it f*cked you up the ass. Shark Hotel ? my, what a lovely venue.
Mr Panties (feelin cranky) - Thu Mar 16 0:04:25 2000
Try some melatonin Mr Panties. Surely you agree there's a place in the world for a pair of pecs and a few Club 69 mixes. America for example ;-)
EC - Thu Mar 16 1:22:01 2000
BT - Best night in Melbourne at Easter is "Redemption" on the Sunday night. Not sure of the venue yet as it moves around. Redemption could best be described as "Inquisition Very Lite" (sort of a polite version of it) - although with better DJ's by the sound of it. Music tends to be very bass driven disco house/dubs, with great crowd of mostly guys. You should be able to get tickets at the door - if not they may go on sale in Sydney. They sell through a number of venues in Melb. (NB - I am not a promotor!?!) ALSO runs a scaled down party on the Saturday night - but it's been pretty crappy for the last few years.
Thu Mar 16 9:20:06 2000
I forgot to sign the above re Redemption.
lovin' it - Thu Mar 16 10:11:04 2000
I've been to Angel Place once and I thought it was a great space. Has a great
underground feel to it which should suit Ffierce perfectly. A friend of mine went
there on Mardi Gras night for a party that Tuyoshi Suzuki was playing at and loved
it.
TW - Thu Mar 16 10:41:06 2000
Anyone know who the line up is for Ffierce?
Thu Mar 16 14:38:08 2000
Arrgh! Too many icons! Panther, perhaps we can remove HE, Wet Dreamin, Minus 18 and Twillight? They are all over for a while at least. And maybe remove Tilt from next month?

Thank you TW

Is anyone going to Industria (FreeFm Dance Party at the Metro on Sat 1 April)? What was it like last time and is it worth going to?
Tyce - Thu Mar 16 15:49:20 2000
I was so dissapointed to hear the line-up for inquisition as far as Goodyear and Monroe go...it just doesn't fit with the atmosphere that Inquisition (used to) have. Where is the edge that is so important to making this party the scary, filthy, sinister kind of space that makes one quake in their boots knowing that anything could happen on such a night?...
I guess dollars are taking over from creative purity...
A message to the Leather Pride Committee: Go to the video store and rent a movie called "Preaching to the Perverted" and then you might get an idea of what an Inquisition party would be like in an ideal world.....
But remember punters, a party is only as good as those who attend, so it is up to us to perhaps hijack this attempt at blanding out and reclaim the space for the down and dirty shindig it is meant to be!!
Who's going to join me??

Free FM Party was fun last time. They are saying it will have more lights than Frisky this time, donated by the same lighting company who is interested in showcasing their work. Could be very interesting indeed!

Rumour is that Free Fm are using "Vary-Lights" at its end of broadcast party. This lighting system has never been used before at the Metro and will be Mind blowing....what an excellent start to the night.....cant wait, and such a worthy cause as well to ensure that the ABA does give a full time licence to a G&L community station.

jase - Thu Mar 16 20:43:17 2000
Varilights? They were among the first intelligent lights and have been used all over Sydney for years, particularly by Mardi Gras.
Thu Mar 16 20:46:50 2000
But never at the Metro !
Thu Mar 16 21:27:30 2000
They're not that exciting! Mostly good for washes.
Thu Mar 16 21:35:17 2000
What's this rumour that the free fm party's about to sell out? I'm buying my tickets tomorrow - wouldn't miss it for anything. Plus I hear they're getting these state-of-the-cisterns for the toilets. Brilliant!!!!! (Great for throwing up in after hearing too much cheap self promotion)
Dorothy Dicks - Thu Mar 16 21:43:30 2000
Incredible Dorothy, and what about the rumour about an international act. I'm
not one to gossip but *big* names are being bandied about. Now don't go telling
anyone or they'll all want to be there. wink wink
Thu Mar 16 21:51:59 2000
free fm team - Thu Mar 16 17:29:42 2000 Attending Free Fms party will not help them get a licence at all. The party is on April 1 and submissions for a full time community licence must be in by March 17!! The April Fools Day joke is on you free team as I have it on good authority you're having trouble selling those tickets - especially at $45 !
Out team - Thu Mar 16 22:51:39 2000
You spoilt your chance to have a civilised debate about radio stations. It will not be permitted here.
Dear "Have a great night - most of you are imposters anyway. Enjoy your little dress up in leather 'drag'. You ruin it for the true Leather guys and gals in this town."
Not a bad way to piss off those of us wanting to experiment with leather. Remember no new blood=extinction. I wonder if 'true' dinosaurs ever wore leather...?
Brian - Fri Mar 17 10:40:47 2000
Panther, you delete the radio messages at the wrong place. You missed one. Therefore I post this again. Out Team - I work for one of the Free Party ticket outlets (not Central Station), and sales are up on what they were at the same stage of the lead up to the last party. And last time we sold all the tickets we had. At $45 they appear reasonable. We sell just about every gay party at The Metro and it is the cheapest, yet provides production which historically has been second only to Frisky. This one promises to be beyond that.
Be fair in your deletions Panther - Fri Mar 17 12:25:14 2000
More lights than Frisky - whoopeeeeee! I think it's more about how they are used not how many there are and I'm not even a lighting guy.
JK - Fri Mar 17 13:48:25 2000
Brian, you sound like Cinderella going to the Ball.
spare us - Fri Mar 17 13:52:51 2000
Mmmmmmmmm. Varilights were the only moving light once - a very, very, very long time ago. Do not be fooled by the PR spun at you by experts. If Free have been able to get a Freebie Light Show, good luck to them but please note that the many types of moving lights that have graced the Metro for years now are just as good. In fact, the Martin's are brighter, more versatile, and aren't held to ransom by one or two Sydney production company/ies. Just ask Brad what he prefers to use in a small room. Even Alan Parkinson would have to admit that Varis are great for the RHI but the smaller rooms just don't need that long-throw lack-of-focus wash effect. The detail and strength of the Martins are much better suited to the likes of the Metro. Either way, it's great to see the stupid monopoly of usage of Varilites being broken on this occasion. If, of course, you can believe any of the rumours spun by the spin-doctors on this wall. Finally, more lights than Frisky - that would be interesting (and massive overkill). I'm sure there will not be more lasers unless Oracle are giving them away (dubious). Remember that it gets to a stage where most of the punters can't tell the difference whether you have 16 or 24 lights basically because they don't care. They are there to have a good time with their friends - parties are about people, not bloody lights! We certainly don't need that sort of overkill for a successfil Ice Party - remember March 5! Support Free an have a good time.
Fri Mar 17 14:23:38 2000
Panther, I'd like to request the Kentucky Fried Chicken logo to accompany my messages. it's as relevent as most of the other icons, dontcha think ?
Mr Panties - Fri Mar 17 15:19:06 2000
Ouch! The above post is quite fair but note it was not written by the Ice people!
Although I am sure they appreciate the sentiment!
Fri Mar 17 15:22:46 2000
Personally I think they way varilites move, carrying some momentum when they change direction, is far less clinical than the Martins. They do actually look like they are dancing.
Fri Mar 17 15:25:19 2000
What next - is there going to be discussion of favourite brands of water, stylus, what type of leads to use? By the way, I have some fluff in my navel.

There will be a non-drag, very spectacular show. I ain't saying anything more!

Panther:Maybe I missed something...can you tell me why the Free Fm vs Out fm debate is not allowed on here anymore ?
what to know - Fri Mar 17 22:47:37 2000
Because it had become needlessly vile and nasty. Speaking of vile, did you know that Donna Summer really was going to come out to do Last Dance at the end of Mardi Gras, but it fell through quite late in negotiations.
PMN - Fri Mar 17 23:37:55 2000

Listening to Luke Leal on Free FM DJing at Arq. Sounds good. What's Ice like? I've never been.

Inquisition 8 "Basilica" To all you whinging fools it is time to get of your arses
and make a stand in this community and do some work for it instead of sitting
on them and whinging. The processes that are followed are huge and not to be laughed
at. If any of you want to go back and check on the DJ linups from past parties
you will find that Kate has played at INQ 1,2 & 4 and now 8. Abandoning our past
"Hard Parties", I think not! Suggest that some of you out there do your homework
first or shut the hell up.

yes, she has played at INQ 1, 2, 4 and next 8. perhaps she needs a rest? any DJ that is playing the high volumne of gigs that she is doing, surely couldnt be putting their heart & soul into each & every gig. it's probably just another day at the office for her.
Otter Cub - Sat Mar 18 13:17:03 2000
I heard Luke last night too. Believe it or not he plays even harder at Ice, while
still keeping it interesting. He is like a new man when he plays harder, keeps
you going all night.

The Ice MG Recovery will be played next Fri or Sat night on Free. I heard them advertise it but didn't catch exactly which night.

Free Girls - Sat Mar 18 16:01:37 2000
I think that the people commenting about the selection of D.J's for Inquisition
8 "Basilica" should refrain from commenting on Kate's ability to play well should
take a back seat and do some homework. I have attended all 7 and can inform you
that she has played at Inquistion 1,2 and 4. At 4 she did not even play a set
time but in tandem with Dean Essing for the full duration of the party. Not bad
for someone who apparently by your term "can not mix".
Leather Bear - Sat Mar 18 17:22:38 2000
Well congratulations to all the inquisition detractors, you must have set a new
record in complaining about the music before even a single note has been played.
Perhaps you might even like to let us know what the shows will be like as well
seen as you know so much about it all.

Sat Mar 18 19:38:53 2000 - This is the party wall. Industria is a party.
Panther - Sat Mar 18 20:16:00 2000
To Otter Cub, I can undstand what you are saying but, arn't they all painted with
the same brush in that regards. I just like to think that they have chosen a DJ
lineup that will keep people on the dance floor and not clear it as happened at
Inq 7 by a DJ who was so immersed in their own music that they failed to even
look up and see that they had lost over 60% of the people on the dance floor.
Not only to mention that that DJ had not even considered that a variety of styles
where necessary to maintain a room at a good level.
Leather Bear - Sun Mar 19 0:14:25 2000
Leather Bear - your comments are fair, however, if thousands of people are to be kept on the dancefloor, and crowd pleasing DJs to be chosen, there are commercial DJs who are known to be able to keep large numbers on the dancefloor. Kate is never popular to large crowds, she is best suited for chill out rooms. Paul Goodyear is a brilliant DJ but his selections are such that most people cannot stand going to ARQ on a Saturday night, choosing instead to go on Fridays or Saturdays. Hence the unusually straight element on Sat nights. If you want commercial DJs able to play harder easily, there are much better choices than these two. Why not Sveta, Queen of the Hordern? Anyway, time will tell and in 6 weeks many of us will be able to say, "told you so", so we should probably leave our whinging until then. The line up is in concrete now.
Concerned about Inq - Sun Mar 19 11:34:08 2000
Here is the Ffierce web page for all your info: Dj's are Faye Raye, Mandy Rollins
& Mark Murphy in the main room. Billy Morley, Seymour Butts & Androny in the chill
room. http://www.netspace.net.au/~bludv/
Sun Mar 19 11:48:49 2000
And Leather Bear, I was at Inquisition 4 and the tamdem DJ's were the worst line up at any event that I've been to - and that's in 10 years of clubbing. Inquisition 5 had DJ's who understood what the crowd wanted - Sveta, Steve Sonius & Buck Naked as did the following year with Sveta, Steve Worthy, Miss Yeti and Lani K. The best example of what not to do was Inquisiton last year - go back to the Party wall this time last year and read the comments about Rob Davis's set. Kate Monroe can mix, but she sure as hell can't program - witness Pride 2000....Phew, I hope I'm not always this crabby on a Sunday, now its off to strangle Christina.
lovin' it (having a mommy dearest day) - Sun Mar 19 19:37:58 2000

I will say this i am a i would say leather/bear in training and i am/was looking forward to my 1st Inquisition Party. After a few years of partying have found Ffierce, Frisky and Ice to be my fave party's and each one with a different feel and therefore why i go to different venue/party for a harder sound etc... While i can appreciate P Goodyear/ K Monroe as talented Dj's . I thought INQ was a harder party and not just as i have been told a night for the vanilla queens to do leather drag as such and the feel/sound they spin on the dance floor won't be hard enough for my liking or other people going. i know i haven't even been yet but Lanny K, Miss Yeti, Thao, Mark Murphy and numerous others would so unless they both have a shit load of hard ass vinyl in their collection and a style we have never heard them play before i will be quite interested to see.. i did not post to get my comments picked to bits but this is my 2 bits.............
sToCkY - Mon Mar 20 2:16:54 2000
Re the posting above re the Ffierce website. The posting was not made by anyone
involved with Ffierce. In fact, we are totally perplexed as to how anyone was
able to find the web site address, although we appreciate that they probably meant
well. The Ffierce web site is still very much under construction. Also, the address
posted above will change once the site is more or less completed. We will therefore
block access to it for now, and let people know when it is complete. As for the
DJ line-up listed above, it is correct however the order should read: Room 1 Faye
Raye, Mark Murphy and Mandy Rollins; Room 2 Androgyny, Seymour Butz and Bill Morley.
The venue is Angel Place in the city, cnr Pitt St and Angel Place, a fantastic
space that will suit Ffierce perfectly. Newsletter, flyers and membership cards
for new members will be out later this week. See you on the dancefloor. (I hope
this isn't an ad Panther)
Paul Newton ffierce@hotmail.com - Mon Mar 20 8:48:28 2000
At least the Inquisition line-up does not include Buck Naked and Steve Sonius.
For once we might get a good night. Personally I am pleased with the rumoured
line-up, as this party has a DJ line-up that reads the crowd, instead of their
own miserable little egos. It was time Buck Naked got dumped as he was well past
his use-by date.

When is this community going to 'get-over' this board crap! Do you actually think you are achieving something or just an outlet for frustrations?
get-a-grip - Mon Mar 20 23:40:21 2000
I have been to all the free fm parties and am definitely looking forward to the next one on April the 1st.My first major night out since Mardi Gras,I think this will be a great party and am looking forward most to hearing Steven Blomfield play his normal clubby to handbag stuff and most of all am very pleased to see Greg Boladian get the middle spot. The free team always put on a great party at the Metro (probably only 2nd to the Frisky team) and its rather sad to think that if the ABA dont give free fm a licence that this in theory is their last party :(

What's this I hear on the grapevine that Brad Wright is not doing the lighting for the 'free fm' party!! Why, why, why....it's perectly obvious that he is the best person for the job - obviously free are cutting costs.
Over to Gatecrasher.....what a sham, no international DJ's, in fact nothing at all to do with the real Gatecrasher - they have simply purchased the name & are trying to cash in on it. Shame.
mINImE - Tue Mar 21 14:29:12 2000
This is the opinion of the poster.
'Perfectly' obvious, I meant perfectly......
mINImE - Tue Mar 21 14:32:24 2000
As a user of Brad's work, I can assure you that the non-use of Brad does not "cut costs". He is not expensive. As for the Free FM party, I know what is going in on the night, mind blowing stuff that unfortunately requires the operation by a "qualified" person, i.e., the suppliers of the equipment won't let anyone else touch it. This is not unusual for very high end equipment. And the operators will cost more than Brad. Now, Brad-bashers,leave him alone, he is my fwiend!
MaxiMe - Tue Mar 21 14:51:51 2000
This is the opinion of the poster.
Yeah...i agree.Leave Brad alone.He is such a sweety
Tue Mar 21 15:21:24 2000
Saying that Free was cutting costs not using Brad was not an attempt to say he's expensive. He is a very close freind of mine as well. I actually meant to say that they were just not using the best. This will be the first time Free is not using him for their party - something that Brad had to find out through an ad. Not good form. Poor Brad - never mind, we shall attend something else that night!
mINImE - Tue Mar 21 16:51:04 2000
Anyone at ARQ last saturday night?? The music was absolutely terrible all night save literally 2 tracks. At one point several members of the crowd even screamed out "Play some music please". I dont think me or any of my friends will be going there on a sat night for quite some time...... it was horrible.
Tue Mar 21 17:03:42 2000
As many Free FM people are friends of Brad, I take exception to your comments MiniMe. As a promoter, I don't feel that for my own parties I need to explain why I don't use someone I have used at previous parties for future ones, even though I often do anyway. Each event is a one off. Brad is a big boy now, out on his own and realises the commercial reality of parties, and doesn't need "friends" like you stirring up shit for him here. Help him maintain the professional image he deserves and refrain from future postings.
A Promoter - Tue Mar 21 17:07:13 2000

Brad is not currently the best and he will admit that. Maybe in a couple of years...

Tue Mar 21 17:24:56 2000
I know "A Promoter", he does not work for Free but is involved from time to time. I agree with him wholeheatedly. MiniMe is giving the impression that Brad has whispered bitterness into his/her ear in confidence, and to blurt it out here makes Brad look very unprofessional and snooty. Given the number of potential employers for Brad that read this wall religiously and/or talk about gossip appearing here, MiniMe should shut the f*** up. You can bet this will be on many people's lips by the weekend. Panther, please do Brad a favour and delete this tangent altogether.
Tue Mar 21 17:34:25 2000
Who are you to tell Minime not to submit anymore postings? Why don't you & the rest of the free staff/promoters stop sending so many postings in to try & stir interest in your own party. Everybody loves Brad....and yes, he is a big boy!
Tue Mar 21 17:15:57 2000
It was not a bitter remark made by Brad - it was my own opinion. Like everyone else's on this board. Anyone that knows Brad will know that he isn't a bitter person, he is very professional. And he is great at his job.
mINImE - Tue Mar 21 17:44:45 2000

hello "Penny Tration". everyone knows that at the Metro, they serve that putrid yellow piss aka Lemon Ruskie in a cup. they dont allow glass bottles in there. also, the type of queen that I imagine would go to the freefm party would probably wear accupuncture or royal elastic shoes (cheap, common, vulgar) oh, one more thing... what's the story with Atlanta Georgia and her make up ? it makes her look like a Downs Syndrome girl. has anyone told her about this ? c'mon, if any of you know her, let her know how bad she looks.

i dont understand all this nastiness towards the free fm party.I have been too
quite a few of them and had a pretty good time at all of them.Sure the music isnt
overly progressive but quite frankly thats what sydney needs to fill the void/and/or
lack of commercial music being played around town at the moment. I personnally
look forward to hearing the dj's do there thing at the party.DJ's like Stephen
Blomfield and Alex Taylor and the rising star of the moment Greg Boladian are
all excellent DJ's and they do what they do ****Really**** well.I dont understand
why people want to pay out on an event that is doing its best to provide an ongoing
community service in the way of a full time gay and lesbian radio station.Cmon
boys and girls leave this one alone and either support it or keep quiet.I'd hate
to see the division in our community end up with NO G&L radio station licence
being issued.I for one cant wait for the free party and **many** of my friends
feel the same way.Bring on Industria woo hoo !!!
party on - Wed Mar 22 13:57:20 2000
Blackwell, you've done it again. You can only imagine the types that go to Industria, so why comment at all unless you have been? I have a down syndrome sister, so I take great offence at your last post. Perhaps you should think before you type.
Wed Mar 22 14:15:53 2000
I tired of reading comment by silly people hiding behind false names, viciously rubbishing all and sundry. What happened to the fun, witty comments a few months back? As for the parties - to each their own. I look forward to real comment after someone has actually been to the event not silly uninformed chatter before.
Joshua Bell - Liverpool st, Darlinghurst - Wed Mar 22 14:22:35 2000
"the void/and/or lack of commercial music being played around town at the moment" - which town would you be referring to?
Wed Mar 22 14:35:12 2000
yes.Joshua.You hit the nail on the head and then you drove it all the way to china
and back.well done.
Wed Mar 22 14:36:50 2000
i think that "void/and/or lack of......." refers to Sydney ya dim wit.I can only
think of three gay venues overall in sydney that play "cheese". Two of them are
in Newtown (Newtown and Imperial Hotels) and the 3rd is the Flinders. Its not my
preferred music but there is a market for it and i'm glad that a dance party is
catering for it too.
if i must have cheese please let it be Kraft - Wed Mar 22 14:41:34 2000
Good on you Joshua Bell - you speak so much sense but unfortunately that isn't read on this wall, only the mindless blurtings of some! I agree, Brad should have his own wall so we don't have to read the sh*t everytime we log on.
val - Wed Mar 22 14:43:08 2000
Can we have a Brad icon too ?
Wed Mar 22 14:55:20 2000
What parties are held over Easter in Sydney? Looking for harder sounds with out any hi-nrg. Can somebody help me out with local info on whats happening? Cheers thanks alot
Queensland guy on a sex music / feast holiday - Wed Mar 22 16:04:07 2000
Queeneland Guy - there is Ice the week before Easter, Frisky on Easter Sunday (not your style), and rumours of Hey Homo re-appearing on Easter Sunday (surprise surprise, but also not your style). Try Storm at ARQ if it is open on Good Friday. We are a bit short on hard music over that period!
Wed Mar 22 17:58:47 2000
Question?? Did anyone ask Brad if he was remotely interested in doing the training for the supposedly too difficult lighting rig that will be used on April 1st??
Wed Mar 22 18:01:57 2000
Easter is looking very quiet, which often seems to be the case in Sydney (why
is that?). You've picked the wrong weekend to come up for harder sounding parties,
as there is something happening in that regard on every other weekend in April:
Bombed on the 1st, Ffierce on the 8th, ICE on the 15th and Inquisition on the
29th (at least I'm hoping Inquisition will be harder). Check out Gas on the Sunday
night.
Nat - Wed Mar 22 18:04:58 2000
What's so good about Gas, someone tell me???? Is it like ARQ - Better even????
What crowd does it cater for? What kind of music??
Rich. - Wed Mar 22 18:20:56 2000
I don't work for Free but this Brad situation is out of hand. Brad Wright does not get automatical look in on any parties he has done in the past. One can't sit around waiting for select candidates to become suitably qualified when there are others readily available. In Brad wants to be in the selection he will do what it takes, he does not need to be lead. From what I have read above it is not about the rig being too difficult, just proprietary. Enough said, a promoter can do what they f***ing like and chose whatever talent they feel appropriate.
Wed Mar 22 19:21:47 2000
With this much hassle one wonders if Brad will ever get another job in the gay market again. I'll be severing links after reading all this backlash from his immature friends. Sorry Brad. There are other options out there without the high maintenance.
Wed Mar 22 19:26:38 2000
More offensive and off topic messages deleted. Debate about aspirant radion stations is NOT permitted here. How many times do I have to say this?
I am retiring from Pinkboard. I'm over the same boring arguments dragging on & on & on & on .... have a nice life suckers !
Mr Panties has left the building - Wed Mar 22 22:30:42 2000
I'm almost with you on that one Mr Panties. These continous postings about Free
FM, and things or persons connected with Free FM, are ruining this board. For
f**k sake you morons, cut it out. EC has gone quiet. Funkeeboi has gone. Rooster
comes back and gets called a deaf idiot for no reason. I can't be bothered much
with it anymore myself. Now Mr Panties has taken his unique quirkiness and gone.
Nat: looks like you could be the one left behind to close the door and turn off
the lights.
TW (Technowarrior) - Wed Mar 22 22:40:48 2000
Technowarrior, people get a life and well.. they dont use pinkboard as often, it is a great site and I am a big fan, it can get addictive tho, but lets be honest, busy people with lives dont really have the time to keep up with a load of bitchy queens... and to be honest whats the point????

come back Mr Panties, come back ! I'll miss your warped mind.
Octopussy - Thu Mar 23 11:54:14 2000
At last a gay and lesbian ( yes we do like to dance together ) well I do anyway,
in a great venue party. Hope its a good show - coming down specially !! Look forward
to catching up with the Frisky 'tall' boys. See you there.............love the
gurlz
Thu Mar 23 12:23:04 2000
Yes there is a void and lack of commerical music being played. We are a diverse
community with varying musical tastes but there are a hell of a lot of boys and
girls that love their diva's and dance pop remixes. The gay community is known
for their love of commerical acts like Janet, Madonna, Whitney, Kylie etc. and
while this may be a stereotype which does not apply to a lot of people..... it
is also true in many cases. Going out clubbing of a weekend you would be hard
pressed to find many places playing this kind of music (Arq on Sundays is kinda
good). I know SO many people who love commerical (isnt that the whole thing behind
'commerical' - being popular and widely enjoyed?) and are disappointed when they
go out. I'm sick of the club scene where DJ's have to play hard obscure tracks
no one knows to be considered 'credible'. It's so tired. I'm not saying DJ's should
play the pop radio versions of these artist but some of the remixes are absolutely
excellent and make the whole crowd feel GooD (isnt that the point?). So......
I hope Industria DJ's are not influenced by this whole 'must play crap to be credible'.
Every kind of music has it's place. Can't wait 'til Industria..... should be great.
Thu Mar 23 14:32:46 2000
Rich and answer to your question about Gas - what is so good about it? That is a question that i can't readily answer but it could be the mixed aged groups and mixed sexes, it could be stephen and bens soemtimes spooky music and undanceble or it could be the tattoo top boys and girly boys mixing well. It is hard to say why it works for some of us but give it a try and see if you enjoy it. Lets us know on the board what u think.
Green Park Lad - Thu Mar 23 16:00:08 2000
Industria DJ's play those trouser mix's, some latest bootleg, anything your got given by another DJ, Especially the latest Madonna track with vocal's (played at mardi gras). Any Jennifer Lopez, Kylie, Erin Hamilton, Soulsearcher, Motiv8, Whitney, Janet, More Madonna. And I won't be going thanks very much I can hear this at 'the Shit', 'albury', 'arq' (flap hands screaming), the 'oxford', 'flindergarden', 'beresford', Beachamp (gods waiting room). And guess what? All in the same order and I don't have to pay to get in. Who was it that said there is not enough commercial music in this town. Far too much of all the same.
we don't go out so bring back dex fm - Thu Mar 23 16:12:09 2000
What a narrow vision of the world the poor dexfm boy has in the above posting.Cant
agree, wont agree, and in fact I am right and you are wrong.NaNa NaNa NaNa NaNa.So
there ! Cut N paste that in ya own liddle world.Roll on Industria should be a
hoot.
Thu Mar 23 17:36:22 2000
The Party Boys are the basis for all 'dance' orientated events in Sydney. How dare the purists critise their love of music and their qualified comments? They are the one's that support your beloved organisations and their fundraising parties. Get a life you little whingers who are probably far too scared to show your little faces (and, no doubt, bodies) in public. You sit at home and attack from the safety of your computer and bedroom - that, it would seem, given your immense amount of spare time to be vile, no one else shares with you! Get out and smell the roses, even if they come in lines and bullets. :)
Thu Mar 23 18:38:31 2000 on Mardi Gras Wall - Worth Repeating here!
Thu Mar 23 18:39:43 2000
Gee, one is almost fearful to post here anymore. Oh hang on, nothing has changed!
So here goes... Ice Mardi Gras Recovery Party to be broadcast on Free FM from
11pm tomorrow night (Friday 24 March). Tix for the 15 April Party go on sale Saturday.
This information is for all those who read the board but never post.
ICE - Thu Mar 23 22:10:37 2000
Right on re the last post
Thu Mar 23 22:11:07 2000
i think id rather try and survive the free fm party before i even ^^^ThinK^^^
of whether i will bother with the ice party.
Thu Mar 23 22:13:46 2000
Gawd, is everyone having a bad comedown or what?
EC - Thu Mar 23 22:52:40 2000
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!
Doggie - Thu Mar 23 23:08:35 2000
Melbourne? God no! (but thanks for asking At least there are some parties to look
forward to in April (Bombed, Ffierce, ICE), and there's always Kooky and Gas.
I don't really understand the degree of nastiness on this board at the moment
- maybe its a post Mardi Gras thing. Hey ICE people, how much of the party is
going to be played on Free FM? I'd really like to hear Mark Murphy's set again.
What a star!
Nat - Fri Mar 24 8:56:11 2000
Nat - you will hear Mark's set in its entirety!
Fri Mar 24 10:51:07 2000
Where'd that posting go? Now it looks like I'm imagining postings. Perhaps I am?
Uh-oh.
Nat - Fri Mar 24 10:58:57 2000
Who is Brad Wright? l take it he must have something to do with lighting; but in what capacity? sorry but l have not heard of him before. can someone give me an example of his work?
catching up - Fri Mar 24 11:38:05 2000
Brad does ARQ Sundays, Hey Homo and used to do Frisky.
Fri Mar 24 12:32:08 2000
Free FM .... Ice .... Free FM .... Ice ..... Free FM ..... Ice ..... blah blah
blah blah
Free to melt like ice - Fri Mar 24 13:08:31 2000
Yeah...lets all put salt on the ICE and hope it all goes away!! Besides...aren't ffierce and ice run from the same promotional team anyway? just a different branding. If not, well...the dj line up and target audience are the same. same. same. same. same.
marsha marsha marsha - Fri Mar 24 13:31:07 2000
marsha: you need to get out more and then maybe you wouldn't make such ill informed
postings. ICE and Ffierce are run by very different promoters, the only DJ they
have in common is Mark Murphy, and where ICE is almost all male, Ffierce is very
mixed.
Thsi board has become slagging just for the sake of it - Fri Mar 24 13:52:02 2000
I just called in to one of the ticket shops for Inquisition, and the word is that there are not enough tickets available to meet the expected demand. Apparently the members of Leather Pride bought up big. The shops are expecting a huge demand, and there will be some disappointed punters at the end of the queues. Check out the poster doing the rounds, and perhaps Mardi-Gras will take lessons on party posters from Leather Pride.
Jane Newbold - Fri Mar 24 14:00:47 2000
What I dont understand is the DJ line up at Inquistion?
Paul Goodyear, Kate Munroe? What is this all about ...have leather pride sold out.. Its a great pity cause Inquistion use to be the best party all year. The music policy and crowd all had a great edge to them..now? Paul Goodyear? Kate Munroe? where is Sveta etc.. people who have made the parties so fantastic to date.
Not sure if I want to go to Inquistion - Fri Mar 24 14:39:01 2000
Gee there is a lot of people trying to get disinformation about there about any event that raises its head! Can't you just watch TV instead of sitting on Pinkboard all day waiting to pounce on anything that moves? No Ice and Ffierce are not the same, different crowd, different music with a small intersection only. Like good promoters they work together to ensure their dates don't conflict etc. Hey, Oprah's on!
Fri Mar 24 15:01:29 2000
Inquisition will be sold out within 15 minutes - so get in the queue early.
in the know - Fri Mar 24 16:57:50 2000
Early sale of Inquisition tickets from 10pm Friday 24th - Toolshed - Darlinghurst
Fri Mar 24 17:00:30 2000
Nothing like a bit of disinformation - Toolshed have confirmed they are not selling Inquisition tickets until Saturday morning at 9.00am.
Fri Mar 24 17:26:03 2000
I am one of those members of Leather Pride who is quite satisfied by the DJ line up at Inquisition. Leather Pride is one of those rare organisations that listen to its members. The Inquisition organisers were at the last meeting, and answered all sorts of questions we had. I came away very satified with the answers, and aware of all the thinking and planning that is going into this event. If you stopped bitching at party organisers and whinging to this site, and tried to put your own party together, you might discover that you would be the only person at your party. The Inquisition people are doing a good job, and trying to keep their members happy, so if you dont like it, try to do it yourself.
Satisfied Leather Pride Member - Fri Mar 24 17:35:39 2000
When you've heard Mark Murphy's set again Nat, maybe you can tell me what the
last few tracks are that he played. I'd love to get my hands on them, though god
knows where I'd play them. Not exactly lounge room music but they were mighty
fierce.
EC - Fri Mar 24 18:46:53 2000
Give Mark atcall at Reachin on Sat morning. He'd be glad to help. Just tell him its the one that goes like doo dahh vrooommmmmmmmmmmm.... :)
Mara Devlin - Fri Mar 24 19:22:54 2000
if its an eye for an eye, then this board needs a guide dog... wake up people and party like party people should... just close your eyes for a minute and go back to your last peak.. the feeling of having your body taken over by the music... smiling faces in the crowd as you all move to the one fantastic beat, only to be taken higher as the music grabs you by the balls and whisks you far from reality... what ever party your doing, have some damn fun and lose yourself for a while... its all disposable you know...
Stranger In The Nite - Fri Mar 24 22:55:48 2000
take it anyway you wanna.....for a few more weeks maybe?

Re: Satisfied Leather Pride Member - Fri Mar 24 17:35:39 2000
I'm also a member of Leather Pride and was at the same meeting. I can honestltly say that the party committee have done a great job so far. I can only imagine the hard work that has gone into this so far. All this time is unpaid guys, instead of bitching about the DJ line for Inquisition 8 how about thanking them for the tireless work they have done over the last few months. And this job is still not finished. Keep up the great work all at SLPA, particularly the Party committee.
Another Satisfied Leather Pride Member - Fri Mar 24 23:29:32 2000
why dont you 'gently whisper' in Sean Finleys ear that he shouldnt charge so much for drinks, then he might have a full club ? oh god I miss the old days @ Phoenix & Class Act.

Sat Mar 25 16:41:29 2000
Actually there were some slight queues (Radical, Mephisto, Karnal, Sax), but nowhere near the nightmare we were expecting. After having queued at Radical for over 90 minutes we found out that people were just walking into the Toolshed and getting their tickets straight away. Anyway, who cares, queuing for tickets is always fun. Have a filthy party.

Thanks for the reply re "who is brad wright"
he is a lighting jock about town, who operates a lighting console - quite well: and l have been told he is an efficient/knowledgeable technician. to say "he did it" when referring to an 'event 'is akin to congratulating the piano tuner for the concert. not the concert pianist.
Broad statements designating credit, will not advance ones credibility, only serve to question it?
JohnGault - Sun Mar 26 17:49:03 2000
ok Brad Wright is a lighting technician and operator. thanks.
just keep at it Brad, l hear yr good at what u do.
but its hard mate, guess how many disappointed dj's there are out there after a party committee announces its dj lineup?

I unfortunately bought my tickets to Inquistion on Saturday morning, and then (and I still don't know why) went to ARQ on Saturday night. Now who wants to buy my tickets?? I've heard the sound and it aint something to look forward to.
tickets for sale - Mon Mar 27 15:00:49 2000
I've heard similar stories re Steve and Ben flying the coop at Gas. I have an inkling that, if this is true, some of the responsibility for this disappointment is Gas' decision (in all their non-wisdom) to start charging $10 on Sun nights, which, it seems, Steve and Ben are opposed to and always have been.
I can only wish these two whizz kids of groove the best of luck and I will certainly follow them wherever they may go.
As for Gas on a Sun night, for those who have not experienced it yet, you've probably left your run too late as it has been Steve and Ben who have made it what it is. The atmosphere has officially left the building...
Johnny Bravo - Mon Mar 27 15:15:55 2000
Make that four down with bad news re Gang Bang at Gas as well. The $10 door charge was a very stupid idea. Surely the very expensive drinks at Gas compensate no door charge.
Nat - Mon Mar 27 15:35:23 2000
Steve and Ben - thanks for the memories at Gas. I hope it is true that you are coming back to Phoenix. Can't wait for some good ol' boys toilet action!
Oldie but a Goodie - Mon Mar 27 16:28:50 2000
I made my first trip to Gas on last Sunday week. Paid $4.50 for a Red Bull, which I thought was quite reasonable. Then I found out it is the same for water. So its good and bad. But I hear a Palladium fave may be making a move there for a one off when the Palladium closes for renovations.
Mon Mar 27 16:44:10 2000

close to selling out ! have you got your ticket yet ? it'll be the party of the
year ! better than anything Sydney has ever seen. Indusrtia will set a new standard
in Sydney parties & will have world wide media coverage. my friend from FreeFM
says that a news crew from USA is coming over just to document the party. I cant
wait. only 5 sleeps to go ! and NO I dont work for FreeFM

In fact, I think we all need some Ice. Next party is on 15 April.
Tue Mar 28 14:55:28 2000
GAS update...Yes there is movement at the DJ station. Looks like the place to be for some great sexy music, a mixed and friendly crowd will be Phoenix. Steve starts there this Sunday night. Ben will be staying at Gas, for how long I'm not sure.
I get the feeling that Phoenix will once again be that Den of pure music and dance pleasure. Those who know Phoenix know what I mean. Bring on a Sunday night.
