Bitchin' 4 on Pinkboard

He said he was a jerk, so you dropped him. Now their going out together. She said it looked fabulous. She didn't tell you that it made you look fat. He organised a blind date for you with his ex. She said to meet at the bar at 8pm. They didn't show till 10. He beat you to to most gorgeous bit of trade you've seen for weeks. And he wasn't interested 'til you confided in him.
Here's the place for your revenge. Get those bitches back. Stick the knife in and twist it!
Tell them who gave them crabs Tell them when their Waterford broke. Tell them why they can't get trade.

Racism, sexism, libel and other offensiveness is not welcome.

I think it is really slack how all the news papers are accusing that gay school kid of being manipulated. What the hell do they know anyway. I'm proud of that kid for standing up for what he is and don't anyone dare to undermine him.

I would like to thank a certain sex venue for spreading misinformation about No.10 Taylor Street.(formerly known as Sin for Men). Today 8/4/97 the Court ruled in favour of No.10. It is now the second legal sex on premises venue in Australia, Bodyline is the other one. Thanks to all who have supported us over the past six months. "Sorry boys, but your pathetic lies got you nowwhere".

Dear Lesbian, The name lesbian comes from the Isle of lesbos, I think as you are a lesbian of the 90's, you should know..........

The minister for education said that suing the school should be a last resort. That other things must be done before litigation. Don't you think we've tried that? Why isn't the anti-homophobia kit compulsory? How long have we been crying out about discrimination in schools?

Obviously suing a school is the only thing that will make the public take notice of what is happening.

We need a national phone in for young gays/les/bis to report the scope and scale of homophobic incidents they have experienced. then, maybe we can argue our cases for fundings for various programmes and projects which can help. would need school cooperation? what are the chances do different states feel? Any interest? Contact Mahamati, 8202 5190 (08), Bfriend, Adelaide.

To Tue,Apr 15 who wishes for "some sort of more historically related term as the women from Lesbos," hmmm, I think it's a good idea- I thought Gay was conceived for that reason- if ya want a more historical term- how about: "Stonewalls," "Wildes" (for Oscar), or maybe in honor of someone who was out there for us all like "Greggs" (Louganis). Just a thought.

I advertised on Pinkboard recently - thats right I am not ashamed to admit I am a slut bear! Good quality replies arrived within minutes and it wasnt even raining or a bad TV night. I havent had such a following since the good old days of walking through GB's basement with a pale blue and dark blue hanky in my right pocket. The score was 4 doctors, 2 dentists, 2 security guards 1 truck driver, but the one I really wanted, doesnt want a steady relationship or even regular sex with no strings... isnt it odd how this seems to happen... still I 'm glad I am a slut bear,,,[ I didnt give up the tall security guard for him] pity that the brains above the belt are nowhere near the quality of those below!

Tell me why straight people don't have to come out! I't not fair. You don't hear anyone famous saying things on national television, like,"America, I have something to tell you. I'm straight. Please don't hate me. Buy my book." People just assume that unless someone specifically says otherwise, then they're straight. Grr!

Wed Apr 23 9:08:24 1997
In my experience straight women who go to the sleeze ball and sim gay events do so, not out of genuine support for the gay community, but because they have already picked up some std's and will tell their boyfriends "it must have come from that casual encounter with that gay guy - I knew I shouldnt have let him touch me" .... and their boyfriends do seem to believe them. I am sorry Jane, Anne, Amanda, Dianne, Raylene and Lucy - I know you told me this in confidence, but being gay I dont have to respect straight people's confidences. Statistically Gay men who have casual encounters with women and bi-sexual men are a very high std risk..... give me a real homosexual any day.

I got a crossed line when picking up my phone Thursday night. It was hard to put down as the callers were fascinating. 2 middle aged women were talking. One was wanting advice from the other on how to set the table for a dinner party where her son and his boyfriend of 4 years would be invited. The poor mum wanted to prove she was "caring and accepting" so was desperate to avoid offending. She had heard things about coloured table napkins and needed advice on which colours to use and on which side they should be placed. When I heard her asking "what sort of food do gay people eat" and her friend replied "I have heard they eat a lot of those little pancakes, but you have to julienne all their vegetables" the devil got in my and I chirped up "firstly use dark coloured multi-coloured napkins and put them in the centre of the table for everyone to help themselves, dont serve cucumber [its a waste of a good tool] dont serve french sticks [for the same reason] and dont have any of those tiny italian bread sticks - they are pathetic and allways break off before finishing the job" then I addedd on a sensible note "but your son and his friend may well take offence at you treating them so differently to a hetro couple - it is important to be consistent and to ignore the gay aspects after all if you knew your son only had a shower in the morning instead of a bath, would that really change the way you behave towards him....being gay is personal and different for everyone" The women were delighted with the idea of the tablenapkins in the centre of the table and that they didnt have to bother with slicing up all the vegetables. Garry and Clancy if you are reading this..... I hope all went well and you will give Mum another chance as she didnt mean any harm at all, she just wanted to let you know Garry that she would allways love you, just the same wether you were with a girl or a man. I suspect you being gay is a little bit of a status symbol for her at the Bridge Club - well Mosman is like that!

White Party. Were you there? The Retro Hall was 'cold' all night. Music died in the Boys hall. Hope you girls enjoyed it! The White Room was as good as your drugs. A 'stage' would have been a good idea to actually 'see' the shows. Can understand (?) the 2am bar sales being cut off due to the RSL, but not the fact that you could not walk from one hall to another with a drink in your hand!!! But the 'straights' had a good time! No theme at all if it were not for the fact that we all dressed in 'white' - mostly.

As a young middle aged gay who has fought persecution and discrimmination in many often unexpected areas, I am somewhat confused by the style of the current 18 - 22 year old inner city gay culture. They seem to over-protest that being gay is natural [which as we all know it is] but then the whole lot of them fall into a sameish subculture, totally absorbed by trends, fads etc and without the slightest signs of the originality which so marked the very creative force of gay Sydney cultural development of the 70's and 80's. Aaron if you are reading this focus on the content and overlook the spelling! So what has happened to separate this latest gay generation from creativity? and what can we do to get it back?

Regional Queen - White Party was not in Sydney, but in Melbourne. Fortunatly the guys that ran it are welcoming all feedback, it was not all their fault that the night nearly did not happen. Touch and go as late as 1030pm we hear, due to the RSL's very late liquor licence objection etc etc etc. Loads of other issues compounded on the night and full credit for the promoters that it was not stopped by whinging from not so near residents. Had a great night, but hey guys, needs some work done on it for next year. One simple suggestion, raise the stage so we can see the show! As far as themes go, we all dressed in white, but the halls, no theme at all. Very heavy security as well. Can you believe it, not being able to carry a glass of wine between halls! Music was great, even though it blew out in the Mens Hall and we had to listen to it from the Womens side. White Room was great after we had warmed up at about 4am. Work on it guys and we will support you for the next one.

Tartbear, you're not a young middle aged gay - you're middle aged. The young are just doing what we were doing in the 70's - look hard enough & get to know a few of them & you may discover that they are - just as, or perhaps more creative than we were/are. Sure they're into fads - you mean u weren't into fads when u were young. **And** I want a men only hall at Sleaze too Simply because I was screamed at by the women security outside the women only hall when i wandered over to envy them at mardi gras. I had no intention of going in, just doing a your of the party.....

The White Party in Melbourne was a huge scam to make money by pretending it was an HIV fundraiser. The promoters lied and ripped off the gay and Lesbian community. We need answers. Where did all the money go? 5,000 people @ $40 a head with no outlay on the party means there is an enormous discrepancy. Answer up Paul-Julian Dal Pozzo and Mark "Party Pup" Whearam.

I am exhausted of the gay scene as I find no interest in sweet-taliking, using derelicts; and I attain no real satisfaction from souring my close friends when they are attempting to enjoy their night. There is no hope, no gratification and no growth involved in watching superficial pansies prancing around in their decripit little world. And I do not appreciate watching my friends succumb to the obnoxious destruction that results from the gay scene's motive to sabotage the minds of beautiful personalities.
B - Tue Jun 3 2:19:26 1997
As far as superficiality, bad behavior and basic mental dysfunction goes, there's absolutely no difference between a gay bar and a straight one. I think we are just a little more apt to believe we're worse since the entire world is telling us the same thing, that we're "obnoxious," "superficial," "decrepit" saboteurs of normal culture. Believe me, this is not specific to any one group! Just like straight folks, we are diverse in our interests, professions and habits of mind. If one is inclined to meet people on a more cerebral level, one can try a queer book group or volunteer work, for example. If there's no community resources like these in your area, that's a damn shame. Starting something like this is a worthwhile way to meet people with interests besides cruising! There are more aspects to queer life than sex in the bushes..:-) Sounding off again,

Penny Darling Sweety Pet Hon, There is a big difference between 'us' and 'them'. Although I rarely travel in heterosexual circles I can tell you that poofs and dykes can be the most bitchy, deceipted, back stabbing but careing bunch of people. Hetrosexuals can be the same but without the colour, the camp and the sensation that we give to it. Long live poofs and dykes. I believe that for many if not most gay men the cock reigns supreme. How much they have had and how big it was. Without this constant need and without venues gay men would shrivel and fade away to nothing. Penny Darling where are you from. I'm from Newcastle NSW Australia. An hours drive from the second most important city in our state - Sydney.

I am an Aussie living in Auckland (the "D" is silent!) and I just want to say for the record that I have never met so many closets in my life! I wonder if "internalised homophobia" is another Kiwi invention???
Tish Trash - Tue Jul 22 1:59:38 1997
Dear Audrey, I really have no idea who it might be. Perhaps I should watch a game of football and see who minces on the field. Is it anything other than wishful thinking on your part that it is A.K.?
Curious & excited - Tue Jul 22 11:02:37 1997
Curious & excited (possibly a bit dim) Perhaps you should watch some AFL, they definitely do not mince. Not wishful thinking, just being in the know.

Anyone else out there think that the Ian Roberts biography is one of the poorer pieces of writing they've ever read. Let's face it, it's amateur trash. What a shame because what a story! A story that's done a lot for a lot of people. If ever there was a story that wanted good telling it was this one and that's the great disappointment of it. The writer should have stuck to photography. Silly emotional and political points and a general disjointedness really rob the work of its potential. Damn! As one reviewer put it, the writer is a little too in awe of his subject. Silly boy.

After 2 years of being gay....and meeting some terribly horroble people in this hell hole of Central Queensland...I've decided to become a eunuch...even though I am a well-adjusted, straight acting, good looking, 24-year-old guy----I have decided that enough is enough....and I will fly to India to have my balls cut off, live in a slum in Delhi and wear a sari all day. That....my friends...would be easier than putting up with the excuse for a gay community that greets any self-respecting gay person in Central Queensland.

Trying to find someone in this fair city of Sydney is a pile of piles. Read through the adds and all you see is Muscle, cute, large build... Yeah right thats why your single I guess they forgot No brains as well. If they are so good looking why are they single? I guess that happens when the truth is not told and they meet someone......... Wake up
Mike - Mon Oct 6 20:37:47 1997
Dear Mike, Just because a person is good looking doesn't mean they've found (or are desperate for) the love of their life! I am a good looking, young, fit, intelligent and well adjusted individual who is happy to move through life knowing that when the time is right things happen....i.e single. Please don't make assumptions that all "good looking" guys are in relationships!
Ben - Tue Oct 7 16:12:27 1997
Dear Ben, Good for you mate, I have not made assumptions be any streach of the means, it has been by experence, If you had read down the message I placed, you would have noticed that there was something about the truth there, maybe you would have realised what I was getting at. When you either reply to an add or you get a reply with all that stuff in it then finally meet, well there you have it, the bull comes out. I have meet 4 that have said all that you have meationed in your message reply, (Please don't take that I am saying you are not I wouldn't want you think I am making assumptions on you.) I am not. What I am saying is there needs to be more truth in what people say about themselves and what they are after thats simple. If they can not be truthfull befor you meet, then what happens after you meet?? It just carries on and on............Maybe Ben you had made an assumption yourself there!

I am so sick of people telling me I'm "too young" to be a lesbian. How on earth can anyone presume to judge when I am at ease with my own sexual orientation? It was perfectly alright for my brother to be dating girls at eleven, but when, at sixteen, I told my parents I was a lesbian, they were like, "it's a phase, you're too young to know." If it is okay to assume your children's heterosexuality from a pre-pubescent age, then we should be able to be open about our homosexuality whenever we become comfortable with it. After all, homosexuality is largely about emotions, not sex. I wish some adults would just grow up so that their children have the freedom to do the same. There is no reason to cut someone off entirely from the gay community just because they are 'underage'. We do not cut teenagers off from 'appropriate levels' of exposure to heterosexuality oriented community, so why is homosexuality any different?
I just had to have a bitch about that! *smile..*
Kath - Fri Oct 24 20:57:45 1997
Kath Well put! I am in a similar position in that i am a 17yr old lesbian, except i haven't come out. Society is so discriminatory toward GLT people, and this is worsened by the treatment of young people. Straight people think its a choice but seriously who would chose to be constantly opressed and ridiculed by the world. If i could i would fit into conventional society but i'm me, and i refuse to hide to my self at least what it is to be me. There is no way i would take the bold step you did in coming out to your parents now because mine would react as yours did. They'd probably think i couldn't get a guy so in desperation i turned into a lesbian (LOL). It has really been an awakening for me to come to terms with my sexuality, and realise what the world is like. From quite an insular childhood where i thought everyone was treated equally and everyone had equal political representation(what a silly thought) i was thrown into the real world of predjudice and discrimination. Whilst still mainly an observer to the Adelaide 'scene' because i am not even old enough for most venues it strikes me that even the so called liberated movement is invisible. I am completely alone here and seeking out places to go to meet people and find very little. Unless i want to go bushwalking with a bunch of over forties(Oh joy!) or meet for a coffee on the other side of the city during the day when i should be at school there is nothing. Even in the centre of the city there is little visible of the scene. Why is it that the Feast Festival in Adelaide is so poorly advertised? How are people supposed to join in and celebrate who they are when they can't find any details about festival? I found out about the festival through a friend in Sydney. That's just ridiculous! I searched the city and drank many a coffee trying to find posters, leaflets anything at all and far too much caffeine later finally found a programme of events. Why is it so difficult? Why aren't we as a community proud and openly publiscicing the event. Why isn't it advertised in hotels and on pinkboard? I think i can speak for a lot of teens in Adelaide who feel completely isolated and alone and want somewhere to go and meet people, and have fun without having to hide who they are. We need to know about events like Feast but it is not made accessible. Does the GLT society want to ignore us too??
Jazz - Sat Oct 25 10:38:54 1997
My personal bitch is about living a life u want to live without people always pointing the finger in more subtle ways than one. Can't wait to get away from the stupid ex's and the family. I love my beautiful grrrl and we want nothing more than to love each other without any family hiccups. Although I came out with her at a work function (which was a bit scary) we did it hand in hand and with each other as life partners. I brought her to my family birthday lunch and they loved her..... until I started expressing my own opinions. I will be marrying a very intelligent and beautiful woman and in reality it feels like they are almost threatened, although both of us are open to conversation, questions etc... but we are sort of being treated like we are not really there. They can all go and fool themselves into thinking that the world revolves around them and only them...I head over heals for my girlie and that's all that matters. Bitch is finally finished. Sorry for boring any of you out there.

bockchoi hater - Sat Nov 1 22:14:55 1997
My pet hate is dick heads like bockchoi hater (above). No matter how pissed off you are there is absolutely no excuse for supporting that person(I use the term loosely). How can we as a gay/lesbian community try to encourage equal rightsand equality by advocating tolerance and understanding, when our actions are of hatred and predjudice. United we stand......
Jazz - Sun Nov 2 10:56:58 1997
Im with you sweetie I cant stand hatred especially by those do gooders who pretend so much like all the straights at OUR dance parties now they have a prob!!!

Pauline Hansen is our girl she at least speaks up for the majority who are to scared to speak their minds and only whisper........
Sun Nov 2 20:33:12 1997
Hater: You are falling into that oh so common trap of prejudice. For whatever reason, you hate a single person. So you choose a charactersitic of that person and generalise your hatred to the group of people who have that same charactersitic. You have chosen asian. You could have equally well have chosen "short people" or "left handers".

We, as homosexuals, have for so long been the victim of this sort of hatred that we should be the first to condemn this in others. Homophobia, racism and sexiam are just different forms of this same hatred.

Racism is not welcome on Pinkboard. Take your hatred elsewhere.
Panther - Sun Nov 2 22:10:16 1997

so sue me daaarrrrrlllliiiinnngggg you not letting me have my say either are you prejudice against me?????????

You have had your say. All you have shown is that you are racially prejudiced. You are therefore as bad as any anyone who bashes up people just because they might be gay! I would not let you in my house. You are not welcome on Pinkboard. I do not censor the Internet, but I do have standards that I set within Pinkboard.

Confused New Lesbian - Tue Nov 11 14:07:03 1997
New Lesbian: Being a lesbian isn't like being a doctor, you don't need to pass exams or qualify for anything. Lesbian is a label that we can apply to ourselves if we feel it is right. Tell your friend that you feel that you are a lesbian so you must be.
