Pinkboard Graffiti Wall - Festival Graffiti Wall 1

Years ago Sydney's Mardi Gras was the only festival for our community. Now every capital around Australia and a few other places have GLBT festivals.
But they are not all newcomers: Midsumma, Feast, Brisbane and Perth Pride have all been around for 15 or so years.
Perth Pride has just finished as has
Rainbow Visions in Newcastle .
Feast in Adelaide is next at the same time as Canberra's SpringOut festival.
Festivals provide opportunitities for people to get together, to share their interests, to meet new people, and to celebrate. They can also show the wider community that we are more than the glitz and sleaze that is the mainstream media stereotype of the GLBT community.
Feast Adelaide - 5th to 28th November 2004
SpringOut Canberra - 12th November to 3rd December 2004
Midsumma Melbourne - 21th January to 13th February 2005
Mardi Gras Sydney - 4th February to 5th March 2005
Darwin Pride Festival - 11th to 25th June 2005
Brisbane Pride Festival - 3rd to 25th June 2005

yeah midsumma
Its into the second half of Midsumma now and i have to say I LOVE my Midsumma. i have seen some great performance stuff: from comedy to cabaret, there's also arty stuff and party stuff, and an opening night that kicked arse. best of all just being at so many queer events. it truely feels like a month long festival. And on the Labour Day weekend we have 4 days at Chillout in Daylesford.
Chookas to Midsumma Board and vollies.

Ok so it's not a local festival
But it seems Seattle Pride (the largest Pride festival in the US Northwest) may have a Sydney flavour to it this year.

Scroll down to the Saturday entertainment and I wonder if that is actually Shanobear from Sydney or is it another DJ with a similar name?
